haha when I was in Pensacola there were a few hotels that started refusing service to military for the damage they always caused.

You should check out people's posting history before you assume. Of course I don't think that's why they are over there... I was responding to the utter ridiculous claim that the British Armed Forces are terrorists. That's why I also mentioned the Orange paramilitaries, just to avoid this kind of response. To say that Western Militaries have struggles with ethics is one thing, but to put them on a level with Fundamentalists of all kinds is "deluded."

 

They are just right to refuse those who murder innocent men, woman and children to build and guard oil pipelines and rape a country of their own natural resources! This is the same army who tortured and killed innocent civilians in the North of Ireland and continue to do so in Iraq and Afganistan. They have no right to enforce their law in any part of the world. Troops out of Ireland, Troops out of Iraq, Troops out of Afganistan!

I actually do have narcicistic tendencies, maybe that did play out in me telling him to check what people think before they post. However, I tend to think it was me educating him on basic debating strategy (ie, don't leave anything to chance. If you are going to insinuate, make sure it is correct). And I did "say what I meant," he just wan't able to understand it, for whatever reason. I even included the Orange paramilitaries example to avoid the kind of response he gave.

I really struggle with how people such as yourself equate Western Militaries to fundamentalist extremists. If you think that it is their goal to attack civilian instillations then I think we shouldn't be debating because I doubt you'll ever be swayed the other way. If the "enemy" in this situation hadn't adpoted the tactic of using human shields, waving white flags so they can get closer to give fire, and dressing up like civilians in civilian areas, you can bet there would be a dramatically lower amount of civilian casualties. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, I'm not even saying some of our guys don't snap and commit war crimes. All I'm saying is it isn't the intention of the military to destroy the civilian society. Oil can't come out of Iraq if it is in chaos, and that surely is one of the reasons we invaded. We want a stabilized Iraq, not chaos. You seem to be behind the times though, because casualties have decreased dramatically in the past year.

Have you ever heard of Alaska? It's pretty * close to Russia. And if you think Russia doesn't have the capability to strike the US, and that we'd be "safe" in a war, then I really have no further comment. What the * was "mutually assured destruction", then?

Can you enlighten me as to where I said the British and US military were the same as Islamic Fundamentalists?
I said quite clearly that the presence of an unwelcome foreign occupying force is helping recruit people to the more extreme elements in the Muslim world.

The occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan are mere exercises in helping the likes of Haliburton increase their lot.

Oil is the sole reason Iraq was invaded. End of.
The reason why the Coalition forces are still there is to oversee the safe installation of a successful puppet govt.

The reason why the Russians got so * off is because when (Pro American) Kosovo began fighting for independence from Serbia the West helped them. When South Ossetia tried to do the same with regards to Georgia and Russia tried to help them, Moscow was accused of interfering in another country's affairs and cast as a bully. Just a slight case of double standards here, don't you think?

I agree with pretty much everything you said, though other than that. We agree with each other, which was kind of my first point. South Ossetia for sure should be its own country, but Russia is really meddling, and I think they actually hurt Ossetia's chances. South Ossetia went from being the bullied little guy to being allied with the "bullying Russians" from the Western perspective.
