I don’t really get it either. If you want to turn up and show solidarity, turning up in balaclavas in a big group will probably be problematic, even though they weren’t doing anything wrong, the polis are obviously going to have reason for concern.

Not a fan of them personally, I wouldn’t allow them back into the stadium. I know people like them, I just feel between my own experiences and everything that has went on over the years the club should have drawn a line in the sand.

Aye we should all sit nicely do what we're told. Ffs you are entitled to 'support' Celtic in whatever way you choose. The GB bring colour and noise to every game. I loved the old jungle crowd, main stand crowd and others didn't like them much either. Hail Hail

You are correct, before the green brigade showed up there was always colour and noise.

If we had 60k supporters in the stadium acting the way the gb do, we would have one of the best atmospheres in world football. I feel awkward even thinking about joining in at games because 90% of the time most folk don't. I have anxiety about getting on a bus, nevermind standing up singing when nobody else around me is.

Increasing the standing section would be the best way forward for me. Not sure if the club have even considered it though after all the fall outs over the years.

It's a bit mixed IMHO. For ordinary domestic home games, there was more spontaneous singing from sections of the crowd than there seems to be now; but the GB and Bhoys provide a constant singing that wasn't there before them. The songs were a lot more repetitive too, at least in the period when I went (as they still are for home fans at most clubs). You could count on the Celtic Song being sung multiple times and TFOA at least once too. There were other songs too, but much less often than now IMHO. Nowadays, it's more like an away game in that they run through a sizeable songbook over the course of the match.

I used to love the Celtic song being belted out. * that you don't really hear it much now, and when you do, it practically dies a death halfway through..

Give me that any day over we're Glasgow Celtic 10 times a game..

I'm totally with you on the second part about petering out halfway through. What's with that?

I've even noticed something similar with the chorus of Celtic Symphony in the last few years. The stadium used to join in with the choruses; but now it sounds like it just joins in with a few lines of the chorus and then it all kind of peters out and it's just the GB again.

    I'm no even sure..

It ties in with that other thread about the atmosphere as well as for me, when the Celtic song is belted out....it's quite intimidating I would say. Far more than the new we're Glasgow Celtic anthems..

I'm no even knocking those chants...they're just a bit boring over and over after every goal and more during 90 minutes..

Not really. Been to countless domestic matches before 2006 where the stadium was like a morgue unless we scored.

I can't suffer them. Silly and pompous nonsense to me. But they shouldn't be banned either. Each to their own.

Complete myth this, even the European nights under Oneil the support was outsung by every away support that came to Celtic park, great atmosphere before the game and when we scored but nothing in between during games until the gb got the first block in 2010.
