    Our Manager disagrees.

"When I came across his name, I was really excited by it. I'd seen him as a young player, playing as a 17-year-old in the under-21s with the Republic of Ireland," Rodgers said in his press conference.

"Then in the Premier League breaking through as a youngster and I've got to say that I was taken aback by his attributes. I think through one reason or another it hasn't quite worked out for him so far at Norwich, he had some injuries and whatever else but there's absolutely no doubting his talent.

Still think we paid far to much for him he is okay nothing special money would have been better spent elsewhere

Nowhere near match sharp. Only ourselves to blame for that really. No worries about him however. Once he gets up to speed he will be fine. Kyogo will start next week with Idah off the bench.

His movement was good yesterday but just seemed to lack that match sharpness-and thats all our fault for not signing him on time.

I just hope fans don’t judge him now purely on his transfer fee and jump on every bad touch or chance missed etc. We saw what he can do last season and after another game or two he’ll get his match sharpness back

Totally agree. Clearly he needs to build up his match sharpness but you could see again last weekend that his movement off the ball was very good and he is a real threat in behind for a big lad. Tomorrow would be a real nice time for him to get his first goal for us since signing long term! Against the zombies he has one at Hampden and one at the debt star so needs one at Celtic park hopefully tomorrow.

I’d fancy him to come on and score definitely. Even if kyogo doesn’t score he’ll run them ragged until Idah comes on. He has all the physical attributes Rodgers wants in a striker so another couple of games and I reckon he’ll get back to his best

Is he in the Ireland squad? If not we should have him on a mini preseason the next two weeks as he needs to sharpen up for the CL starting.

Aye he's in the squad. Mini pre season would of been ideal.
Hopefully he gets couple of starts

He did preseason at Norwich, so should at least have the base level of fitness required. It seems to me he’s just lacking sharpness, so hopefully a couple of competitive games for Ireland will do the world of good in getting him up to speed.

Any of the Irish lads think he'll start for Ireland?

Or will it be Ferguson who hasn't had any game time either for Brighton?

I reckon he’ll start, fergusons been in inured for brighton, could be back now but hasn’t played. Smodics is there but probably seen more as a 10 so I think idah will start unless he opts for parrot but I doubt it. New managers first game so can’t predict his lineup but would imagine he’ll go strong rather than experiment

I was saying to my da during the game there that I think some clubs and players underestimate the levels of fitness we try to achieve here during the preseason and throughout the year.
Can have a preseason at your previous club, like we've seen, and come in not up to the celtic levels.

It'll come soon. But I really appreciate how at celtic there really is a massive focus on fitness and intensity

Hopefully he starts for Ireland during this window and gets overall good game time as that should help with his match sharpness and fitness when he gets back. Normally I am quite happy when our international players don't play as much when away on international duty but it would be good for Idah if he plays quite a bit this time.

He seems very much a confidence player so I think when he bangs in his first he will kick on.. also as I said before he's far from the finished article, young lad still, I think BR will get the best out of him with a year coaching him.

The fact ferguson hasn't even been in a Brighton squad yet bar on bench and not playing in league cup due to coming back from injury surely means idah to start Saturday
