I know everyone wants all the new guys to play, and wanted to see them all out against the Huns, but there's something to be said for not changing too much, too fast as well... There loads of time to let them gel and compete naturally in the squad and find their own rhythms and patterns under Rodgers tutelage and judgement. I'm confident we'll see plenty from them all soon enough

I would be in nae rush to change our midfield three, outstanding on Sunday.
Just gradually drip feed Luke and Engels into the team, coming on in second half for now, means little or no pressure on them.

He’ll be playing in the Champions League regardless of who we’ve signed.

Last season we’d barely seen him domestically and Rodgers played him in Europe.

I love him even more because of his recent interview, he said he considers himself an attacking midfielder.

He tracks back, and covers space, and shuts down angles as well as anybody I’ve seen that has an attacking mindset. He’s got a bit of everything a centre mid needs.

I love that we seem to find good characters to play for us. A lot of the credit for that should go to the senior pros that have been here for years to be fair, even the players that don’t make it, it’s rare there’s a bad personality there.

How did we even convince them to drop the pre-arranged price too? Absolutely no need haha

See being honest we probably sold them the Jota story combined with he was back there and not in their managers plans. If we wouldn’t pay the pre agreed fee there obviously wasn’t anyone else willing to or they wouldn’t drop the price.

The narrative around Jota was he was a bargain at £6.25m but they ultimately got between £12m to £13m for him with their sell on.

Maybe they thought, our options are keep Bernardo just now, probably loan him out in Portugal and we might get a £3-4m fee next year as no one in their league is paying £6m for him that would have wanted him. Or they get £3.5m and perhaps in 2 years get at least similar again with a sell on, with the off chance they get a Jota- esq payout.

Bernardo had a terrific match on Sunday. Arguably our best player. Has that languid style that few British players seem to have. Has a hunger and desire that possibly wasn't there last season? Regardless his touch, work rate and passing was excellent. My doubts about losing O'Riley have been washed away with that performance.

Was listening to 'celtic by the numbers' and they were of the impression he didn't have that great a performance. Watched the game back 3 times now , couldn't disagree more . Off the ball he was so influential. Read the game so well and nicked the ball of them numerous times and was always available for a pass. There was a period at the start of the second half where he dithered on the ball a couple times but that shouldn't detract from his overall performance.

There's not enough nuance in how people interpret statistics , not enough context .

I like Alan Morrison but he doesn't half come out with some daft *. Definitely guilty of being too wedded to stats at times, and not trusting his own eyes.

Thing about having players of the quality of McGregor, Bernardo, Hatate, Engels, McCowan is you can send them out to give everything for 60 mins, as Bernardo done on Sunday, and you have the calibre of player to bring on without there being a drop off in quality on the park.

That is the importance of having quality over quantity.

Data is useful for an initial idea of a player or their specific match performance but too much dependence on it risks turning it into astrology for football scouts and analysts...

    Bernardo had an excellent game.

Alan Morrison talks a power of *.

A prime example of someone who takes interpretation of stats way too far.

He has the flair of a Paulo Bernardo and the dependability of a Paul Bernard.

He will break the record we broke this season. I can guarantee he will go for 35-40 million. Being portugese increase the price funny enough.

    What a player
