Can't drop him or Taylor after 4/4 cleansheets. Superb.

One slack pass at the start of the second half aside, was almost faultless.

Best of the back 4 today.

Have gone back and forth with it, difficult to pick the best for me, they were all excellent. Best collective performance at the back in a long time.

This is what happens when players have direct competition.

Him and Taylor were excellent today.

They now know they have to keep this up or they are out.

Left side was definitely stronger than the right for me. Feels worth saying as Scales and Taylor often get picked out as weak links. Not today.

For me, domestically Scales has now reached a suitable and consistent level of performance.

Rarely misses games, keeps his composure and never hides.

To progress further, obviously he needs to improve on the ball playing forwards and then meet the overall standards required in European football.

Judging from his progress recently, it’s possible

He was outstanding and I’ve been heavily critical of his distribution but he’s been imperious since the start of the season

Defensively excellent, mopped up everything and won every header he went in for.

The biggest compliment I can pay him is that I think he was our best defender on the day. That is really saying something, given that AJ had an incredible game and CCV is CCV. On that form (and last week's), he has to keep his place.

Great performance today from him won some really important tackles and also was very good at defending corners he seemed to win more than his share to keep that threat down. Good to see he isn’t given his position up lightly.

Stepped it up today. Even brought the ball out of defence without taking it too far and getting lost. Very impressed.

He's been solid for some time.

As someone who wants better, he is constantly targeted down that side and hasn't really put a foot wrong.

Is he slow and * on the baw? Aye. But defensively he's done nothing wrong. Nothing.

Scales and Bernardo were absolutely brilliant today.

We'd all rather rush on these threads if he'd had a mare but he never lost a ball in the air today, There's no reason to be taking him out the side yet, no matter how much we all want to see Trusty.

Scales has always given me the fear but only because he doesn’t look so comfortable as a defender. I cannot fault him though, clean sheet so far speaks for itself. He’s always involved and does his job as a defender literally every time. He’s unlike VVD obviously, who made everything look effortless. Scales makes it look hard but he does what’s needed of him. About time I trusted him fully I think

I was a huge huge critic last season but credit where its due was absolutely brilliant the last two weeks.

I think the experience of Kasper talking them through the game at times, could be a factor on his improved form as well.

Improving every game, absolutely rock solid yesterday. Delighted for him.
