Think it was a case of managing the game with the right number of subs at the right time.. especially at 2-0, can sometimes be a precarious lead...

 

Hi, JC. I've watched the game now. My thoughts on those 2:

Scales was magnificent, IMO our best defender on the day. I'm genuinely delighted for him. Hopefully he can maintain this form and if he does, he should keep his place.

Taylor had a great game, both offensively and defensively, except for the last 10 minutes or so. This is probably going to seem churlish; but I saw nothing to change my mind about him, though. The situations where he gives me the fear never happened (except a couple of times in the last 10 minutes). Namely, at no point was he really left isolated against a bigger, faster winger or defending a cross at the far post.

No doubt that is due to a combination of Rodgers' tactics, Maeda's engine and the fact that that big, fast Hun winger didn't seem to be there. So fair play to him on a good performance; but I haven't changed my mind. He still looks like a weak link and he will still give me the fear in Europe and in derbies.

 

Aye mate tbf, I tagged you about the 80min mark and he was poor the last 10..

What a day. After a settling period of 5 -10 mins we absolutely dominated them. Been out celebrating this result with my father who is going through a battle of his own right now (prostate cancer).

QUALITY

 

I'm watching sportscene and I heard Clement saying that they were the best team for the first 10mins and had two good opportunities to take the lead and that they needed to take them if they are going to win these games.

I was wondering what opportunities he was talking about and then the recapped the moments he was talking about. It was Dessers' miss and Matondo's header.

Does the dafty not know that they were offside and wouldn't have counted anyway?

Tavernier isn’t great by any stretch but in the 12 years since they reformed he’s been their most effective player by a country mile.
The way they turn against players who’ve actually done quite well for years just highlights how vile and entitled they are.
