It feels like Hatate and Kyogo stories will be used to try and convince us that keeping these guys are like having new signings. In the absence of having actual new signings...

He’s good when he’s on form but really inconsistent to the point you don’t know what your going to get and i think this will affect him not getting a move if he was after one.

Would be very risky losing him and O’riley in one window.

Watching that ball through to the Kyogo chip again. We should enjoy this mf 3, while we have them together. He missed a sitter, but our mf are a joy to watch when on form.

I wish that chip over the keeper went in so much man... would have been an absolute belter of a goal.

Same with the great ball from CalMac for the offside one.

Ball to Kyogo when he’s missed the chip.
Ball over the top for Maeda which he fluffed the cross (shock)
Ball to Kyogo where he turned and played a ball to far ahead.

    3 brilliant passes.

Some of his passing was so crisp and his awareness is always top notch. Eyes in the back of his head. Just on a different planet to anything they have .

Some of his passing is ridiculous, makes passes other players wouldn’t even see.

Reo Hatate feels his lack of international action is down to his "lack of ability" in a brutal self-assessment.

The Celtic midfielder was called up to the Japan squad for this international week but failed to even make the bench to face China as his teammates routed them 7-0. The 26-year-old will hope to appear against Bahrain before returning to his club but has refused to blame anyone else for his snub in the first game

Despite often being a standout for the Hoops during the last few seasons since being signed by Ange Postecoglou, he claims he was left out because he has not shown himself to be good enough to play. Hatate is now targeting achieving an improvement in his game to ensure that he does find himself in the picture in the future.

He toldGeki Saka: It can't be helped that it's over, but I think my being left off is due to my lack of ability. If I had the ability, I would have been able to participate in the games and be a member of the team, so I think my lack of ability is the reason for this result

I think this result is due to my lack of ability. I want to do well for myself. I think I can improve even more. I want to keep that in mind as I work on my game

How is a Reo Hatate after travelling on international break with no minutes? Is he frustrated?

I felt a wee bit for him. I saw in the first game that he wasn’t involved and Daizen was - and scored, which was great. Then, he wasn’t involved in the second game and I was disappointed for him because he had gone out there and trained and travelled. He’s come back and still been positive. He’s going to work even harder and just try to be as consistent as possible. Hopefully, that will be a great motivating factor for him in these next number of games.

It does seem a bit strange that Kyogo doesn’t get picked and Hatate is not being used - is that a concern?

Or Japan must just have a really good squad! I think you have to respect that. Japan are a leading country and have some outstanding players. You look throughout Europe and in the premier league - some top players. You have to respect that. You look at Kyogo and his running and how he’s developing, he’s been sensational, really. If Reo can add consistency to his game, then that will elevate his opportunities to play. We know about the good players, and it’s not about proving people wrong, but you’ve got to prove your point all the time and see where it takes you. Hopefully, they can continue to do that and they get the opportunities. If not, we benefit from it in a way because they’re fresh. Japan have a really good squad of players

If he was the no1 penalty taker, wonder why McGregor made him give up the penalty to Engels..
