    7/10.

We were too slow, but I'm happy with the business we've done. I'm a fan of Palma so was never shouting too loudly for a winger.

    Main positions were addressed otherwise.

I do still think were learning as we go when it comes to these more expensive transfers. We need to be more efficient but I thonk the club know this.

If I have to endure another CL campaign with Taylor getting targeted by every opponent I'll go mad :56:

He is a good backup but please stop it to put him into the first team. If Valle isn't good enough to keep Taylor out of the team, we should not only fire the whole recruitmenr department, no, we should also tar and feather them! :giggle1:

Brendan said he wanted a first team squad around 24 players and that's what we have. Focus on the league and Europe now and we know we have a £27m surplus spend sitting there for tweaks in January.

Wanted a winger brought in but Jamsey has regained his form, Kuhn looks the real deal and Palma still has a lot to offer.

I'm feeling kinda positive tbh, looking forward to Rodgers continuing to get the best out of the players, exciting season ahead.

We Dont really need a cdm with our possession style of play we need technical players in the middle and we have them.

Again somecunt give me Brendans number. Armstrong is still available on a free.

Also saving this post because Idah has all the tools already and with Brendans couching, he'll surpass Moussa and Eddie. Long after Brendan leaves * still be here. Cant think of the last Center Forward who was a Celtic fan and wanted to be here like him. Brian McClair, McAvennie? Probably missing a few after

With another winger I would actually be happy even thought procrastinating everything to the last week ist annoying as *. I know there are reasons for this, but there is no excuse for lame excuses like we could't get our main target. Put a list of enough alternatives together ffs, you had 3 months to do this.

All together a much better window than in the recent past. Hope we can build up from here. Especially the Engels transfer gives some hope that we are slowly learning how a club in our position can improve. That one missing winger could come back to hunt us for the CL campaign though!

If they keep it up we should be ok, but personally, I would't have some much trust and would have got in another winger. Even if it was only a loan.

I'll just post the same post in the other thread verbatim

A 6.5/10 window with the potential of going to 7.5/10 if Trusty does well.

Add in a Winger and another CB and it'd be a 9/10, but it was massive step up from last season's window, which was honestly a 2/10 for me at best.

Very impressed with how we handled the GK situation, Engels showed some real ambition for us, and I think McCowan and Valle are smart signings. Getting Bernardo and Idah back was great as well.

Trusty is the only one with question marks, but I honestly think he could be a very shrewd signing if he can show his form prior to Sheffield United, he's the exact type of CB we've been crying out for.

I think a Winger would have made it a perfect window, but I get that the club are giving Palma/Yang until January to show something.

Next steps: get the recruitment and scouting network set up properly.

the loan at lb looks to be the only improvement from the end of last season , think scales will keep his place .it all depends on whether engles is better than oriley ,after the season oriley has had thats gonna be a big ask . with the champions league draw we had a great chance to repair our reputation but its looking like an opportunity spurned

    5.5/10

Schmeichel couple years back was world class and even now is probably a bit better than Hart.

Sinisalo is learning and currently may or may not be better than Siegrist.

Another year has passed and we have not replaced Taylor. He will be once again targeted and skinned in Europe.

Valle is hyped because he's from Barca but people forget it's Barca B. Not the main team. I was hoping for an LB to claim the spot, not cover for Taylor.

Trusty seems like deadwood from the reviews and Sheffield fans who were literally laughing at this. Is he better than Scales? Maybe. I wouldn't be surprised if he's worse than Lagerbielke and we will be back to CCV and Scales in 3 months. 6m is way too much.

Iwata gone. Why? He was so solid.

Engels is the main one and looks great.

McCowan is bemusing for me. 27 year old who did not touch international football at any level and the biggest club he ever played for is Dundee. 1m seems overpriced. Is he better than Iwata? No chance. Is he better than Holm? Maybe.

Bernardo for 3.5m is a solid business but it's not an upgrade on the starting 11.

Idah for 9.5 is just ridiculous. Okay player and I'd have him as a third choice ST. Worth 4.5m tops. I actually don't think he's currently rusted, it's just his standard performance. We bought him cause he scored couple penalties and scored against Rangers which one of the two goals was a weak shot straight at Butland who * it.

MOR was always going so I'm not counting that but it's another window where the progress is barely there, if any. So much cash to use and such an easy CL group but its clear the people at the club has no ambition. I feel for Rodgers.

Engels is the type of transfer I was hoping for LB, CB and a different Striker than Norwich 3rd choice.

The window is acceptable but shows the zero ambition.

Just the attitude the board wants. Happy clappers. Doesn't matter who we get, as long as they are new you'll be buzzing.

Disagree about the need for a CDM, I'm sick of getting overrun and outclassed in the middle of the park in Europe. We struggle every year against physical teams, we get hurt on the counter attack and lose runners constantly. Our midfielders do not win enough tackles or make enough interceptions at the highest level. If Engels alleviates that then great, we'll have to wait and see.

Most of the best teams in the world play with a technical midfielder who breaks up the play and helps out the defence. While I'm sure scouting for that position isn't easy, we've not had a good one for years, plenty of failures though (Kouassi, Soro, Abildgaard, Iwata).

I admire your optimism about Idah and I'm sure he'll be a solid player but his technical ability and finishing worries me. I hope I'm wrong and just being pessimistic - I do like the guy, but not for £9m.

Same logic. Just because I'm not super happy with our business and think the fans deserve better does not mean I'm * at parties.

We could have tried and punted Yang and Palma and upgraded in the wide area. I think this will happen in the January transfer window. Good to see a lot of the deadwood shipped out.
