Jusr find it hard to believe that there isn't a winger somewhere we could loan in.

Angelo from Chelsea a prime example. A deal like that wouldn't be hard to facilitate.

May come back to bite us in Europe.

    Kasper, Engels and maybe Valle.

The rest could have been done weeks/months ago.

In the case of Bernardo, I won't argue with anyone who wants to discount it. How we managed to drag that out so long baffles me.

Been a let down of a final day. We knew about Engels and Trusty.

Was hoping for better than just McCowan. Even a winger on loan.

Aye evidently but my point is more that if that's the case and we've went straight to McCowan it'd be weird. I'd have thought we'd have another player around that level of fee lined up.

Diawara is a different profile. Perhaps it was Sanches. That seemed like an open goal for us to execute but seems to have been avoided. Bit surprised. He looks class and we will regret that imo

Every chance it will sadly. So close to being a really good window but we’ve left ourselves short which is very disappointing.

SSN back at CP, no mention of anything other than Engels & McCowan.

    Mccowan, Bernardo, who?

If we let both Iwata and Holm leave - who's that 6th choice CM to complete a backup trio?

It suddenly feels very short in numbers, compared to last season being bloated to *.

Even with iwata or Holm in there, it feels short on quality as well. I'd really have liked someone better to fill that rotation up.

The good news, everyone gets decent game time from those 5 above. And whoever gets the 6th spot should be able to use it to boost theirself as well - perhaps a youth talent from within. But then still begs for more quality in front of them.

Not that it's all about money, bargains to be had for sure.

But if we was willing to spend the 8m on Bougasz as well as the money for Engels and Trusty - then like you, you'd have hoped a bigger talent than Mccowan was on the list to be chased as well?
It seems a big step down, I don't mean this too harshly on Mccowan.

Last summer was the worst window that I have ever witnessed, this window is correcting last summers * ups but by adding quality instead of quantity

Although he’s young turley seems like he may be an option in there? Not ideal but think he has great potential and obviously won’t be needed/called upon too much with the other options ahead of him

Maybe there was nobody else we really fancied in that price range. Got to imagine we could have got Sanches if we wanted. I think Rodgers prefers McCowan. Maybe he just let his gut dictate this one. I think we’ll be back in for some more big money signings in January in the Bogusz ilk and also a winger. I’m ok with what we’ve done here. No point just spending for spending’s sake if we’re not convinced we’ve found value.

    Is iwata to Birmingham confirmed?

Also is there even any chat of Holm being away?
