Do you really think this has been worse than last year?

If you've offered me this on Monday I'd have bitten your hand off

But now I want a winger

    Clutching is all we have.

Engles plus Hatate and Cal though a think between them will absorb Matts numbers.

Need a winger but. Losing hope now though

We surely must be trying to bring in a winger on loan. Got to be.

Dont get how we where trying for the boy from lazio snd Bogusz who liked to play out wide to ending up with no one for the wings , if Kyogo and idah get injured then mares hoes up top and we lose a winger

What exactly are you talking about, lol

I know they've replaced him ffs with Engels, can you read? Who mentioned anything about Oreilly? I mentioned Jota in connection with him and you can't seem to read. We already had * Oreilly last year, lol, jesus.

As I've said go and read , which seems to be a task in itself , look in the match thread of the game he (goalie) played. I can't be arsed doing it myself and quoting people and making yourself look foolish. And I already wrote, it's not a huge thing for me. Between that and * with pace cracks me up on here.

I'll ask one simple question right now, hopefully you'll be able to comprehend what I'm getting at.

Are you in the opinion that Engels is an improvement on Oreilly? Are you in the opinion that that both goalies are an improvement on what we had last year? Are you in the opinion Trusty is the 2nd best player at CB? Are you in the opinion that Valle is better than Taylor? Are you in the opinion that Idah will have a better goal ratio than what he had last year?

I do like the look of Engels but then I think about O'Riley's contribution domestically and in Europe and that means Engels needs to hit the ground running within the next 6 weeks. Tough ask to contribute in line with O'Riley numbers straight away as not sure he will be as front-footed but let's see.

Schmichel is a good signing but Joe Hart was great for us too. I'm not bothered by Sinisalo truth be told - doesn't fill me with confidence and in reality he isn't going to be contributing in our key CL or domestic games so not seeing the inherent advantage for this season

I get Idah and Bernardo had to be executed but in reality, it still leaves us in the same position at May 2024 - that is the long and short of the matter.

My challenge is what areas of the pitch can we be convinced that we have strengthened? I'm not convinced

Hoping Celtic are holding off announcing Engels until the end of the window in case no one else signs, hoping it’s not another problem as they’ve announced Trusty

I'm a bit nervous that Engels hasn't been announced yet; but other than that, I'm really happy with this. Our best window since summer 2023 for sure and arguably since January 2023.

BTW last year I'm not saying I was doing somersaults, but at least players were signed in semi decent numbers in positions that needed strengthened, maybe outwith CF. Summer only I'm talking about, not January.

For those who are in love.....
I don't think Rodgers himself will be happy if this is how it finishes..

The way he was talking was buoyant about transactions in the background and being busy.....only to sign the 2 players that were practically sorted yesterday..

As I said, there's been a lot of good work and plenty of that has been shipping out the unwanteds but I wanted a couple more to be really happy with it..

Still feel we're a bit light..

    Yes.

I'm basing it on the numbers brought in I've already mentioned earlier.

Not sure why people can't get their heads round the word 'hindsight', not you BTW.

We brought in 2 cbs from abroad and a guy from Liverpool as well, aye it didn't work out but there was numbers and decent fees paid.

Now we've brought in 1 and lost 2 at the moment, maybe the 3 from last year summer window.

Same as I said about wingers, did the same. And let's just head to the Palma thread at the start of his career and smart arses who are rabbiting on about last year's windows will see what I'm meaning.
