We definitely need to be better organised, but you have to be excited by Engels..?

And we can't discount how important the GK situation was to get resolved..

Again, just because Idah and Bernardo were here last season, shouldn't be discounted as adding strength.

My inferences clearly aren’t clear enough for you. So don’t go making assumptions and stating them as fact, like an idiot.

You make two “fundamental” points, then refer to the three points you’ve outlined. Have you missed something, other than a basic understanding that the type of player turnover in one window you have suggested would be * mental; never mind the finances involved?

As for the points you did make: (1) in an ideal world deals would have been done earlier. As Rodgers has stated already; we could have done so. Rodgers chose to wait on the players he wanted instead. (2) We signed multiple centre backs and left backs in those 7 windows.

Engels looks like he'll tear up Scottish football.

Idah and Bernardo although here last year will be better this year. Rodgers has to be one of the best managers in the world at developing players.

Idah especially has all the tools and I totally expect him to oust Kyogo for the starting Jersey. Saying that though Engles and Hatates passing range with Kyogo upfront could be fukin deadly.

    I'm excited by Engels.

However if we don't sign another midfielder on top of him that would suggest to me we haven't achieved what the manager wanted.

If we also don't get a winger or another attack minded player I'd say that's a failure.

Engels looks good but we've lost 18 goals and 19 assists or whatever from last season in MOR and Engels as good as he looks, apparently his best position is as a 6. We definitely need another attack minded mid. And winger.

If we don't get it then for me it's been decent but not anything spectacular and I'll be left feeling like we could have done a bit more.

As true as that is. MOR couldn't get a game when Hatate was on it. Thru injuries last year Hatate didn't play as much as he wanted. MOR's replacement was already here.

If we get McCowan on top of Engels, I'd say it's a 6.5/10 window, with the chance of it being a 7.5 if Trusty ends up good.

Get a surprise on top of McCowan/instead of McCowan then I'd be willing to bump it up.

I'm not ignoring anything I'll say again, hindsight.

We sold Jota we brought in 2 wingers, we brought in 3 chs, we brought in cms (not that we lost any).

    Now quiz time for you.

We are rid of 2 of the cbs and 1 possibly on way, now I don't know if your the guy that needs the calculator or just thesaurus, maybe both. Many have we brought in this summer?

We've lost Oreilly whose Jotaesque loss, we've replaced him with 1 guy from our squad from last year?

GK wise, we've replaced 1 good one for 1 good one, not sure of reserve, looked awful with ball at his feet from what I saw that most on here have a hardon for, i personally don't.

Listen I know how it works, Kasper drops a clanger in a hun game or Europe he's basically done here, lol, go and look at Joe Hart thread for confirmation.

With iwata not confirmed yet I wonder if we can’t let him go due to a player falling through

Not sure that's true as the 3 that finished the season included MOR.

    I'd say that's clutching a bit.

Your inferences are really not as nuanced as you are suggesting. You think its been a good window, I think there's a lot left to be desired, in terms of incomings, origination and speed of execution. It really is as simple as that. You think our winger options are acceptable, whereas I don't.

Well the first fundamental point is the one we have been discussing about us being net net to May 2024 . The "Two fundamental points around the window as well" are as aforementioned :lingua:

To make it easy, I don't think it's been a successful window as per:

    i) We are net net from May 2024 and reliant on Valle and Trusty to be difference makers (unconvinced in the latter but let's review in due course)
ii) Speed of origination and execution has been very poor, noting we are two days away from playing the Huns and 3 weeks from our first CL game. When have the players to be bedded in?
iii) We needed quality at LB and CB 7 windows ago. Executing this window does not make it successful as the opportunity cost is our lack of business in other required areas.

    Hopefully clear

This, except I'd only bump it up if we added another winger on top of that.

A lot of pish from you yet again.

We've replaced O'Riley with Engels, not Bernardo. We've essentially replaced Lagerbielke with Trusty, got an actual back-up to Taylor, replaced Siegrist with Sinisalo and Hart with Schmeichel.

Sinisalo is awful with the ball at his feet? What a lot of pish yet again, just say you have no clue how good he is :56:

If you don't rate this window, then that's more than fair, but trying to argue last years window was better is just being pedantic for pedantic's sake.

A winger would honestly bump it to a 9 out of 10 if Trusty turns out good.

At least we only have 2 hours left to deal with this.
