_7_ on KDS more or less saying Dundee player has signed and still a decent chance for Winger/FW to be brought in.

All players I like but we are considerably weaker than we were 12 months ago in that area.

People are too quick to settle for players that aren't of the quality required to move forward because they like them personally.

Who is genuinely later stage CL quality in our starting 11? Schmeichel, CCV, McGregor and you could make arguments for a few others but if we're being honest the current squad wouldn't cope.

Dundee lad with another quality loan is about it I'd say. Still think we absolutely needed another defender.. doubt that's happening

Engels, Trusty and McCowan would be a pretty underwhelming end to the window for me.

Delighted with Engels, not sold at all on Trusty. I didn't mind the McCowan links a few weeks ago and would still take him, but also thought we'd have another midfielder incoming. News on a winger has gone quiet too - our current options there horrify me, as does our lack of quality depth at CB.

    Let's see what happens.

Tbh it's a bit pish, don't think we've strengthened enough and we'll pay the price in Europe. Thankfully huns are in a mess which should give us the upper hand domestically, but injuries might even bite us on the *.

Considering we've brought in nearly £50m in player sales since end of Feb (abada) we'll be lucky to have spent about just around half that, should be just over if these 2 players are coming in.

Schmeichel, Johnston, CCV, McGregor, Hatate, Maeda, Kyogo and Idah.

Then you’ve got your Engels, Trusty, Valle and Kuhn who are largely still unknowns.

    Engels
    Trusty
    McCowan
And a winger on a loan with option to buy would be good business.

Aye as it would stand, the squad is much the same, potentially weaker due to the switch of O'Rielly with Engels, time will tell.

Trusty comes in and I'm keen to see what he can offer, but it feels like we've overspent on what would be a consolidation of kobi and lager leaving. Not sure he takes us up a level.

Engels for O'Rielly, it's naturally to assume he is a lesser player, however as far as replacing O'Rielly for quality, that's the sort of way the model should work. Is he like for like though, for position and style?

Idah we've stood still with, got rinsed. Happy to have him back in, but no denying we got taken for.

Bernardo, likewise happy to have him in and credit to the club knocking that fee down.

Valle, excited by anything Barcelona related, but he's a project in every regard and if we are being honest, we needed better/permanent for the left back position.

Keeper wise, two out two in, great business price wise, time will tell if sinsalo is better and gets game time that Seigrist didn't. And I don't know if Kasper is that much of an improvement over Hart to be claiming it's a massive improvement.

Plenty out the door is great, but I'm not convinced any of the key positions are improved on.

Squad more streamlined and easier to see what's going on, but yeah, expected more for the end of this window.
Another midfielder in Sanchez or Bougasz would have been great and another attacking/winger option.
Top that off with a better CB option would have been superb.

We definitely need a winger. There's absolutely no excuse for not bringing one in.

Currently I'm on the fence about the rating of this window if we can't add to the attack a bit more. Did think that mccowan wouldn't happen either but seems inevitable now.

He's a decent player and I rate him. But feel Diawara or Sanches would be better suited to what our team is lacking still.

    Let's see how things end.

2x high end loan to buys on top of mccowan would even make things look a lot better.

From where I'm standing, we've overpaid by leaving things too late. It's not clear we've improved the start eleven for the tens of millions we've spent. We just need to wait and see how these players fit in.

Where we standing with names mentioned last day or so?
Sanches, diawara, Bougasz, Mccowan - is it just Mccowan that looks likely of them all? Other three dead in the water or bids still happening and active?

Id be happy with us bringing in McCowan. Always looks good, lots of energy and think we can wring a bit more out of him.

Given we were looking at our worst window in a decade several days ago.. relatively happy with our business this week.

Recruitment revamp hopefully beckons.. with Engels as a blueprint of the level of prospect we should be targeting going forward.
