Didn't stand out one way or the other for me in that game.. we didn't play particularly well on the day in general..

Taylor starts on Sun, think Valle will be on the bench and I'm glad we've looked to upgrade..

At times, he was absolutely bullied IMHO. One example that has really stuck in my mind is where he was caught upfield and their winger just accelerated past him leaving him trailing in his wake to start a dangerous break. Luckily Maeda had the pace to catch him and force him to check and that allowed Taylor back in to make a good tackle. But we can't always rely on Maeda to bail Taylor out.

I hope the wee man proves me wrong too. I've always thought he's a very good footballer who just lacks a bit of height and pace for our level.

 

I must admit I've never watched the whole game back.. just Idah's goal on every platform, from every angle about 10,000 times..

Yep it takes this from what should be overall comfortable to now a bit more nervy. No doubt we have too much going forward but that central defence is going to be weak physically.

If memory serves me the games at CP last season were pretty similar. We had the best of it but took our foot off the gas in the 2nd half with the result that the final score flattered sevco. I'd like to see a whole 90min display on Sunday with no let-up and I'm also hoping we don't gift them some naff, easily-avoidable goal as we often do. If we're on it and don't make any silly mistakes we should be fine. A lot of supporters seem to think it'll be a walkover but personally I don't expect a massive margin of victory. A nice 2-0 win would do me fine, anything more is a bonus.

 

Thats a fair assessment of the 2 home league games last season. To be fair its pretty much how we have started this season in all 3 league games as well as the League cup tie also. So lets hope we can put in a really quality performance for the full 90 this weekend.

 

Anyone else getting the "battle fever"

 

Interesting that Rodgers said any players we sign today could be involved on Sunday. Hard to imagine any of them starting but maybe we see Engels and Trusty on the bench on Sunday. Valle has been here a few days and trained with the team so it will be interesting to see if he starts but likely he is at least on the bench if Rodgers sticks with Taylor for Sunday.

 

The feel good factor for the hoops is flying. The huns are getting sent into meltdown again on Sunday COME ONNNNNN

 

Can see CCV not making it. Sounds like psychological games - seen it often before with BR. Master at it.
