Aye, he deferred his wages to avoid tax (because he is such a really great guy) and because he cut the contract short will probably never see the money now. Some £8 million or so.

It's a cracking price for sure, wages would not be a starter for us, nor would we be his level at all.

All for pushing the boat out, but that one is way out of our circle (I know you're not advocating for it). But it does show the prices can be wild and not in a bad way.

Agree... it really does show that even if it is "easier" to find players like Chiesa given he's a known entity. If clubs are clever they can go out and find guys like that, at prices to them that are like £2mill to us
