Celtic in the UEFA Champions League 2024-25

Pretty sure it is right. Each team gets 8 games, 4 at home and 4 away, all against different teams. It doesn't look like being in the top pots gives any advantage now - it's just a way to avoid sides getting loads of easier or loads of tougher opponents.

 

It sure would but it would be way better smashing them or getting a result. I think we could do that. If we can beat Lazio, Athletico Madrig or RB Salzburg, we can beat Aston Villa, but i get where you coming from

 

I think the top 8 go straight through to the last 16, the remaining 16 teams of the top 24 it is they who go into a play off

 

Bring back the seasons when we could win all our home games !!

Realistically we’re not getting top 8, but getting to the 16-24th place knockout would be a great achievement for Celtic, and quite achievable I reckon!

 

We will finish 11th in standings then at long long long last win a knockout tie,

Definitely. If we can get the 3 or 4 players signed who we are meant to be after then I reckon that we could give it a good go anyway

 

TBF, mate, I'm sure most people on here are much closer to your view than mine. Villa are obviously a very good team; but I think we'd get smashed by even the bad EPL teams. I annoyed a few people at the end of last season by saying I thought Luton (or basically any EPL team except Sheffield Utd) would beat us quite comfotably. It's an opinion I still hold TBH, so I want to avoid English teams if possible. I can't help but think about what Liverpool did to the Huns a couple of seasons ago and I don't want that to happen to us.

Celtic will play 2 teams for each pot making total of 9 teams in each group.
4 home and 4 away playing each team once.
Of the total 36 teams, teams 1 to 8 go through to Last 16.
Teams placed 9 to 24 are in play offs home and away with 8 winners in those play offs going through to Last 16 and losers going out without a chance of dropping to EL or ECL.
Teams 25 to 36 are out with no chance of going into EL or ECL.
Draw made on Thursday BUT the match dates won’t be known until 31st August as they need to make sure the dates and matches are compatible through all 3 competitions.

 

Are we still guaranteed European football next season if we win the league, albeit if it's EL?
