His injury record won't help his value, only has a year left on his deal, and it's pretty obvious we've been wanting rid for a while doesn't put us in a strong position, we'll be glad to get him off the books and free up the space in the squad.

We got more for Christie in last year and Armstrong in last year both were not proven in championship they bleat on about how good their second league is well put money where mouth is then … remember Burnley were after him aswell so Celtic are in a stronger position than you think and that deal was quoted as 5 m then their was a sudden uturn … like a say must be to do with the trusty transfer

Trusty coming the other way could well be a factor, but Armstrong and Christie were simply better players than Johnston and regular starters, that's why their value was higher.

    2.5m isn't bad.

If we had got 4-5 I think we would all be very impressed. But reality is, he isn't a 4-5m player.

We've got stung (purely financially) the opposite way with Idah and then being able to inflate the price. But that's football and transfers, not everything correlates simply.

Doing well on the cash front with all these players we're getting shot of. £2.5m is decent for him.

MJ is 25 and has played 146 pro games and not been a starter much and never a regular one, Stuart Armstrong was 26 and played 144 for us many as starter including CL experience and around 300 pro games, Ryan Christie was 26 and played 151 times for us and played nearly 300 pro games. Christie was also only about £1.5m, more came after Bournemouth promoted.

Always defended him and always maintained he has bags of ability. Have never seen such a strange attitude towards a player for us, particularly when he’s homegrown and a big Celtic fan.

Think as he’s got older he’s tried too hard and it’s not helped, the goals at West Brom he was skelping in would have been in row Z for us.

He’s 25 years old and there’s a genuine question as to whether he’s ever positively contributed to 3 or 4 games in a row at any time in his career. Therein lies the problem.

Maybe the jersey is too heavy for him, maybe he just can’t handle the pressure. One thing for sure though, he’s not good enough to be relied upon here.

That said, I wish him well.
