Mate you're a known happy clapper you've pretty much said earlier this morning that Rodgers is full of crap by saying we shouldn't be in the position we are in the last week of the window. He's the manager of our team and a very experienced football manager so if he thinks we shouldn't be in this position I'm likely to take his opinion over anyone in here.

Too many in here weeks ago telling people to clam down when it looks like our manager wasn't very happy but had to tow the party line until he couldn't anymore.

Yes deals are done the final week when you're looking for loans and EPL cast offs but the players we are targeting now (Belgian and Polish boys) fit neither of the categories and if anything the lateness of our bids is the issue.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Holm go out on loan. We have one more space available. 2 if we pay off Kenny.

 

I just can't see us spending that sort of money for one of them to sit on the bench then again we spunked money on two cbs last year who barely played

 

I don't think we need Edouard unless Man City really do buy Kyogo. I'd much rather keep Kyogo.

I don't know anything about Trusty; but Sheffield Utd had the worst defence in EPL history last season (and by some distance!*). That doesn't make me amazingly confident about him.

Holm and iwata will be squad fillers. Infact if any CM leave it might be 1 of them. Also boguz can play wide so with palma and MJ potentially leaving he might fit there

I agree we should do our business faster, but there are a lot of variables in a transfer. Acknowledging that is not “happy clapping”.

Managers say all sorts of waffle to the media. Of course he’ll want signings in as early as possible but as you say he’s experienced so will be aware of what can hold a deal up.

We don’t have all the info but there’s every chance our earlier targets became unavailable. The Balikwisha (excuse spelling) deal was one we looked at early in the window and that went quiet, perhaps because of an injury. There’s absolutely no doubt that we’ll have been making enquiries all summer, but most business gets done in the second half of the window.

After this window closes I want Rogers and Nicholson to sort out the shambles of our recruitment process and get a head of recruitment and a team of scouts behind him as some of the players we are targeting sounds to me of the manger knowledge and we really need to get our finger out on scouting within Europe.

 

Balikwisha got injured in the first game of the season and missed 4 since then, so yeah I think that fell dead because of that and that's lead us to Bosgusz.

While I think we should head into these things quicker there definitely will be things that stop us getting who we want.

To be honest I'm more annoyed about getting Idah and Bernardo in so late than getting new players in so late.

 

I have a feeling this will be posted again in Jan 25 and June 25...it hasn't got through the last 3/4 windows and doesn't look like it will any time soon.

Aye they could’ve been sorted earlier. Sure I saw someone say on here that’ll be two months wages saved so that’s why it took so long, and it’s plausible.

 

It is plausable but I'm not sure that's the issue. With Bernardo I think they wanted to haggle the price down, and that's probably what took us so long. How much we saved by taking so long we will never actually know. Idah was a gamble that went * up, we were holding out to get Norwich to lower the price and then suddenly Kyogo looks rough and we need a new striker so have to pay what was asked. Luckily for us Maeda stepped up and covered well but we might not have been so lucky.

Right now I still believe it's possible for this to be a good window, but we should not be in a place where Ralston is having to play back up left back.
