Celtic are ready to spend the majority of their Matt O’Riley windfall on strengthening Brendan Rodgers’ squad for their title defence and Champions League assault.

The Scottish champions have multiple offers on the table for several of their top targets. They include Augsburg midfielder Arne Engels, LAFC's Mateusz Bogusz and Lazio winger Gustav Isaksen. A loan deal for Barcelona's Alex Valle is also close to being agreed and Celtic also want to add to their attacking and defensive options. Celtic want Engels as a direct replacement for O’Riley


The Hoops have made an opening offer of around £6million for the Belgian under-20 international but the German side want more. Celtic are expected to up their bid. The good news is that the Hoops know that Engels, 20, is keen on a move to Scotland and it has been reported that terms have already been agreed


Celtic still have an offer on the table for LAFC midfielder Bogusz. They are still under a valuation but the Parkhead side are still remain in talks and are prepared to buy both the Pole and Engels.

The Hoops will push again for the former Leeds United player after LAFC lost their League Cup final to Columbus Crew. Celtic have also opened talks with Lazio about a possible loan for their Danish winger Isaksen.


Rodgers wants another wide option and the 23-year-old has been put to him as an option. If that deal happens then it could open the door for Luis Palma to exit before the close of the window.

Celtic are already well down the line in bringing in Valle on loan from Barcelona. The 20-year-old, who has signed a new deal with the Spanish giants, will move to Celtic on a season-long loan

He will compete for the left-back slot with Greg Taylor. Celtic are also keen to bring in another striker to add competition to Adam Idah and Kyogo Furuhashi

The Parkhead side have been linked with a return for Odsonne Edouard but Record Sport was told that a return to Scotland is not currently on the Crystal Palace striker’s thinking. Celtic defender Gustaf Lagerbielke is also set to join Dutch side Twente on-loan. The champions will ramp up their moves to bring in another central defender once Lagerbielke’s switch is completed

 

If we get Isaksen, Valle, Engels, Bogusz and a CB it will be Randy Marsh material.

 

Isakaksen,valle, Engels and a similar pedigree cb would be decent. Two of these are already pretty certain of happening

 

Think we will get all but Isaksen .

I was always expecting at least one of our new signings to be a straight loan, was expecting it to be CB rather than LB but it's not the end of the world.

I was more than willing to take Bueno on a straight loan when he was linked earlier in the window.

Said earlier but I think we see Matthew Anderson as our potential back-up LB next season, with a more experienced LB being brought in alongside him and Taylor leaving, so I can see why we've went for a loan, and if the rumour about Valle's buy out clause are true, then it's all about convincing the player to be here anyway, which would be very similar to a LTB.

Fees for the top 2 will.need to be higher I would imagine . The winger will need to be loan with option or obligation as I cant see us spending big on 3 players in a week. CB the same.
