A look at Scott Brown

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by Rendog, Sep 2, 2008.

  1. Man all Scott Brown seems to get is stick and we clearly have worse players in our team than him E.g Wilson and Hinkel, Mcmanus at the weekend. Yet cause there is this myth going about that hes a hun and doesnt give his all everybody hates him. I like him and think he will start to perform just has to find his feet this season after all that happened to him last season , a lot worse players have played for us and got a lot longer to prove themselves than he has :50:

  2. Although it is hard to compare players who play different positions, Hinkel and Mick are far better players than Brown.

  3. Far better players ? mate would give it to mick because he has some good tackling in games but Hinkel doesny do much to merit that too be honest :50:

  4. Its not a myth mate

    Dont be naive

  5. Do You know for a fact hes a hun ? seen him walking about with the orange regalia on or at Ibrox :shamrock:

  6. Do u know for a fact he's not, and find it so inconceivable hat a hun could accept a lucrative contract to play for Celtic and play within himself?

  7. A dont know for a fact hes not its just you were telling me not to be naive meaning you know hes a hun :celt_2:. A dont think he plays within himself hes either not good enough which i doubt or he doesnt fit to the way GS plays him because hes decent for Scotland :50:

  8. He has no heart for Celtic, its there for everyone to see in his body language, he makes no attempt to hide it.

Sooner he's moved on the better.

  9. M8 I think you have lost it, do you seriously expect me to beleive that a professional football player is purposely playing pish because he supported their rivals as a boy? I would like to remind you that alot of Celtic greats supported the huns as children but once you are a player you give your all for the team you play for its as simple as that.

Under Jock Stein Celtic would buy up all the best protestant players as he knew Rangers wouldn't buy the Catholics, therefore I can bet that a good majority of the team would have been brought up Rangers fans but did they not try?

I know I am making a comparison on religious grounds here but I know for a fact, back in that day and age that the majority did follow a side of the Old Firm according to religion, even though Celtic are a team that are open to everyone and one of the main reasons that people all over the world love the club.

Just before Celtic signed Hartley, Rangers where about to finalise the deal, do you seriously think that he would not have tried for the huns, no chance.

  10. It's entirely possible that Browns' heart just isn't in it.
However, I think that's a dangerous road to go down. We can't really know for sure, and no matter the "underlying cause" we should be judging him on his performance. Whether his hearts not in it, or he doesn't fit the system, or something else is very hard to say. If we buy into the storyline without knowing for sure then we risk making this a precedent for future players and holding that against them unjustly, in addition to how it reflects on Scott.
For me, I don't need the storyline on why I don't rate him. I don't rate him because of what I've seen on the pitch. Personally I wouldn't cast him aside -- he's still a decent player, I just think Robson and *maybe* Crosas are better suited for us. Maybe some time coming off the bench will get his head or heart or legs or whatever in the right place. Or maybe Strachan is right and he'll come into a game soon.

  11. Whys it so hard to believe?

Yes Im sure many huns played well for Celtic in the past and vice versa, and yes, the majority of them probably gave their all as they were professionals.

But there will always be exceptions to that rule. As Ive said in previous posts, on the rare occasion he's stuck the ball in the net for us he's showed no emotion and didnt even acknowledge the fans. Check for yourself.

He doesnt have the passion for the jersey and never will. He has 3 times the ability of Hartley yet who do the vast majority of fans prefer?

    Hartley.

Simply because he seems to want to play for the jersey and even though he's no better than an average joe.

The guy is talented but his heart lies elsewhere, so he should be moved on.

  12. dont think that has anything to do with it he is just an average player nothing else and another poor transfer by strachan

the thing is that broon plays * for us but once it comes to a scotland game he gives it his all and plays brilliantly. i think he would try better if he actually played for the huns as i think that is where he initially wanted to go. has really went downhill since he first joined because he was actually not to bad but i do not have a clue how hibs rated him as WORLD CLASS because we all do not see it! :31:

  13. :icon_mrgreen:browns no any worse than hartly when we won the league at tannadice he wasnt acting like a mad rangers fan give the bhoy a chance and stop acting like those bigoted scummy * fae castle grey skull

  14. He's had plenty of feckin chances, and is still getting them because for some reason WGS starts him, all he's been is *, waste of space. How he gets on ahead of Robson is beyond me. :31:

  15. Thank you DustyMcCeltic! i feel the same way but feel he could be good if he plays like what he does internationally and starts improving!!! Don't know why he starts ahead of robson though :97:

  16. Bad management by WGS -- real shame:54:

  17. PLG Mcleish do i have to go on sister *!

  18. You are right Brendan, he is as bad as them.
