Can't wait till the day there's a European league we can participate in to give us a chance to compete with these English premiership teams who just come take our players bcoz of the vast sums of money sky throw at it..hate losing players to teams who's stadium would fit inside Celtic park twice.

As someone from that area can confirm . The train on match days is mainly groups of 6th formers , middle class family groups , the football is just a little day out .

Nah I know. I agree totally, but that’s what is wrong with football. A club like that with the small support they have can spend over £200 million, we are a much much bigger club but spend a pittance

No doubt in my mind he will be moving on from Brighton for maybe as much as double what they just paid us in 2-3 years which assuming we have a sell on profit clause will earn us some more money down the road as well. A top class pro on the field and a class act off the field who I have no doubt will always be a Celt no matter who else he plays for in his career. Wish him nothing but the best.

Their capacity is 31,876 their average attendance in the Premier league for the last 3 years is
    2022 ...30,988. 97%
    2023 ...31,477. 98%
    2024 ...31,586. 99%
They are a very well supported club who balance their books as well as competing at a high level in one of the toughest leagues in the world.
I realize they are not top six but they are the envy of many clubs who struggle to be competitive & balance their books.
A perfect club for Matt O'Riley to move his career forward at.

Brighton aren’t a bigger club than us, but they aren’t a diddy club.

Its a good move for him to showcase his talent. Look at Caicedo and MacAllister.

And Bissouma. Then moving away from centre mid you have the likes of White, Cucurella, Sanchez, Trossard and Groß all moved onto bigger clubs. Definitely a good step stone.

The figures I saw were 27,000, maybe that's wrong. I don't disagree it's as good a move for MOR as he can get, but I will dispute all the way that they're 'bigger' than us. It's * Brighton.

    Just reeks of bitterness though.

We’ve been in this position for how many years now? No they aren’t “bigger”, but he has more opportunities to move to a bigger club, more money, better standard of league, better development.

Just have to accept that it’s a step up in terms of career progression.

It's a perfect place for MOR to showcase his talents !!! If he does well, he could be at a big club in a big league in a couple of years.

It's a great club to progress, I think he is good enough for a direct move to a top 6 team now, only snobbery prevents a team at that level to buy direct transfer from us

It all comes down to what constitutes a big club. Celtic are a massive club but they are swimming with Minnows while Brighton are a medium club swimming with Sharks. Bigger clubs tend to play in bigger cities like Glasgow, Manchester & London so the chances of Brighton, Leicester or Dundee becoming a "Big Club" are pretty remote.
I've always wanted to see Celtic compete in the EFL but I realize it ain't ever gonna happen.
