We have £82m cash as it stood at 30th june.

Our turnover looks like £110m minimum this year with costs probably around £95m so there is £15m minimum pre tax profit.

We could end up with over £100m cash in the bank come year end in June it's * insane.

    @Foley1888 what you think plausible

If they have a long-term plan as to why they're hoarding cash and not putting it on the park, they could(and should) easily come out and communicate that.

It's only causing more discontent amongst supporters.

Correct mate to say it's for a time when we don't make the UCL so we don't need to sell players is BS

Everyone seems to want this Engels lad in so much, any reason why? His highlights are mostly just tackles and long balls and lot of them from the right back position (I know YouTube highlights are extremely unreliable)

Is he highly rated in Germany ?

We need a player to help out with the loss of MOR goals and assists . We need an attacking midfielder with an eye for goal. Ideally Bogusz (think he will be the first one done ) if not possibly Sanches.

I don't think the narrative that it's all happy-clappers vs doom-n-gloomers is helpful. I think there's a lot the board do right but I think there's things they could do a lot better.

To me it's not so much a case of the signing policy being bad but rather being a less than optimal approach. There's absolutely no denying that we have lost ground on the pitch to clubs from comparable or even lesser leagues and the signing policy is a huge part of that. With a better transfer strategy, I believe we'd be far ahead of where we are now in comparison to other European clubs and every window we persist with our current strategy constitutes a lost opportunity.

By the way, I'm not really sure what point you're making in quoting the above image. Some poster on another forum claims we're linked with two young players. So what? No one's reporting any bids here. Here's my view. If it's true, Bogusz we could get for like £3-4m so that's in line with our current strategy. Engels is worth a few bob more so it's likely a LTB we're looking for. If we go in with like £7m+ up-front for either, I'll stand corrected. However, I won't hold my breath.

Dunno bud, every report I've seen has been saying around the 8mill mark for him.

I'm not sure he's worth that but fair enough. If we place an £8m bid or thereabouts I'll eat my words. Put it this way, it would be highly out of character for us to do that without a loan period first.

Think it's the 'premium rate' cos the MLS window is closed and they can't replace him if they sell. Would prolly make a loan unlikely if that's the case.

    3-5 business days.
Once he passes his medical and signs for Brighton.

So money may land in Friday - perhaps we can get 4 or 5 over the line in one day.... :56:

Sorry about yesterday mate. I'd love nothing more than any potential new signing(s) to come in and help smash the huns next weekend.

    Agree.
And the reason we may not qualify is....:39::43:

How about continual underperformance in Europe due to chronic underinvestment, then also losing Rangers previously earned coefficient points - the only reason we qualified directly to start with.

It's called preparing to fail, which unsurprisingly is a self fulfilling prophecy.

most teams are playing on a Saturday very seldom you see transfers go through on a Saturday. Aye we all want signings but Saturday most clubs are usually focused on game day. Should see some movements from today for the whole week
