I think you got high expectations and you are setting yourself up for a disappointment. If the past is any indication, I expect us to do the bare minimum once again.
    • a starting-calibre CM/AM. The name that excites me the most is McAtee. We'll probably settle for a cheaper option.
    • McCowan
    • Beck
    • maybe a centre half. Assuming Yuki and Lager are gone, we'll be left with 4 choices, plus Iwata who can play the position. Wouldn't be surprised if we signed nobody.
Highly doubt we'll sign a forward or a winger.

Tbf I think we had that stage a couple of weeks back. Surely if there's boxing it means people are somehow still defending the business this summer??

Aye never got to the fighting stage before.

Transfer royal rumble sounds like something Peter Lawell could sell tickets to and make money from.

30 raw as * prospects from all over the world compete in a over the top battle royal where only 1 can get a contract with Celtic.

The bare minimum for me would be at this stage,
Bougasz, Engels, beck (loan to buy) and a CB to truly partner CCV.

What we will get in reality is Beck on loan with no option, McGowan signed for a million and mcatee on loan. End of window.

They won't even hit the bare minimum in my opinion.

    Engels/Sanches
    Diawara/McCowan

He came off the bench in that game with about 20 minutes left. No one we sign will be starting against the huns

The bit that always gets me is when Rodgers insists everyone is trying like * behind the scenes, but there's no evidence of it.

You never hear 'Celtic have a bid knocked back for xyz' or 'Rodgers goes on the record that Celtic want to land xyz'. There is almost never any evidence of these failed deals, but there's often evidence of teams making failed bids for our players (e.g., Atalanta). We never seem to even place lowball bids or get the rumour mill moving to destabilise a player.

There's something wrong with the picture that we're trying hard. Is it our strategy, are we not willing to open the wallet, are they all trying but just incompetent? It just doesn't add up, there's little evidence of serious attempts to bring in quality players.

You never said that in your original post, you just said playing, not starting.

"Whoever comes in now (if anyone does) isn't playing against the huns next weekend"

People used to complain that Celtic was a leaky sieve with too much getting out. Now it's as tight as a fish's sphincter and still getting complaints.

This week is genuinely last chance saloon for us or else we will be confined for the next few years.

If we can’t buy players of quality during this window, then * help us when we get to the winter window and next summer.

I can bet my bottom dollar our two favourite and well trodden excuses gets wheeed out:

“It is hard to do deals in January…we need to wait until summer”

“We can’t sign players during the CL qualifier period…we need to wait until the end of August to even have a chance…”

For the leadership at Celtic, it is your job to originate and execute deals. I don’t care about the excuses.

And I still stand by my original post. I don't believe anyone we sign next week will play Sunday against them. Doesn't matter if Sinclair came on against Hearts or what.

If your looking for an argument with someone I suggest you look elsewhere

Who said anything about an argument, the only person mentioning it is you.
