Manchester City are braced for bids for young attacker James McAtee before the August 30th transfer deadline, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

The Premier League champions have been fairly quiet in the transfer market so far this summer, with winger Savio and veteran midfielder Ilkay Gundogan their only first-team arrivals, while Julian Alvarez's move to Atletico Madrid for a club-record €95million remains their only notable sale. England midfielder Kalvin Phillips has also left the club on loan, joining league new-boys Ipswich Town for the season

But with the final week of the window now upon us, club chiefs are preparing for late interest in their 21-year-old playmaker

Manager Pep Guardiola has used McAtee plenty during pre-season, and admitted during a press conference in the USA ahead of a clash with Celtic that he would "love" to keep the midfielder as part of his squad for the upcoming campaign, describing him as "special".

The club have sent him out on loan to Sheffield United in each of the last two seasons but now believe that he can play a role for their first-team in the 2024/25 season as they look to make history with a fifth consecutive Premier League title, while also battling in multiple other cup competitions.

However, Scottish champions Celtic are one team who are said to be looking at potentially doing a deal for McAtee in the final days of the window, although GMS sources insist there has been no contact between the clubs or with the player

    He's a good player.

I suggested him as part of the deal with Kyogo potentially. Him and someone else to replace MOR.

But it would probably not be a loan to buy.

Would imagine this would be a straight up loan with no buy option.

If there’s an option or it’s a permanent, I’m all in. Would be a good replacement for O’Riley.

    Can't see that happening.
Would love it, but seems too out our reach if he's actively been talked and used in their first team for the new season.

A man city loan after coining in £50m since march don't care if he's a good player it's * penny pinching at its finest.

Gundogan coming back may have slightly changed things, less minutes for him to have.

Mcatee can play out wide as well he's reasonably versatile. Given city's squad looks actually quite light I'd be surprised if he's allowed to go.

This is probably one as well that would actually be quite a bit of a difficult sell for the player himself.

I think he's quality and would start for most EPL sides. Lot of city fans rate him as highly as Palmer or Foden.

Going back to our City contacts once again, proving we have no scouting network whatsoever. Anyone saying, but they are a great team full of great talents etc is missing the point entirely. We CANNOT just be relying on the same * avenues all the * time.

I detest our board of charlatans with all of my being.

Not a chance he's coming here, on loan or permanently.

Would cost far too much for a permanent deal, and he just played a full season in the EPL on loan. If they loan him out again it would be to a Leicester, Forest or Palace.

I'd assume they'd be open to offers now that the 6-loans rule is in effect. We have the money. Question is whether a) we're willing to spend it and b) he'd be cost effective. The EPL market is massively inflated.
