Kyogo Furuhashi

As much as we all love Kyogo, if there was any truth to an £18mill bid by City, he'd already been snapped in Manchester as he heads into some recording studio to do some hipster snazzy social media reveal video.

Starting to think there is something here though and it concerns me greatly... not Man City being interested, just don't see that happening but I do feel something is afoot and he's getting sold to some fairly decent level Spanish team like a Betis, Bilbao, Sociedad, Girnoa even.

 

Nice distraction to the fact we still need a left back, centre back, centre mid and einger. At least

 

The Hoops are also braced for more interest in Kyogo Furuhashi after the hitman flashed up on the Manchester City watch list.

The EPL champions are interested in the Japanese striker as back up for Erling Haaland but no official contact has been made between the clubs. Celts are determined to keep hold of the 29-year-old but are aware a big money bid from the Etihad could force their hand

 

CalMac could easily have had a big move if he wanted one.

 

In my opinion he’s the best striker we’ve had since Larsson, closely followed by Dembele. His movement is absolutely elite and I’ve no doubt he would be successful at Man City.

Particularly as his movement and off the ball work is more often than not a step ahead of the players in our team. The amount of times he’s clean through and not noticed, that won’t happen at Man City.

People sometimes forget the impact he had when he initially came in. He was the symbol of Postecoglou’s tenure. His initial performances and just his general attitude in the Jablonec and Dundee games inspired the crowd and it went from there.

It would be cruel to deny him this move, and especially if there’s bids bordering £20million, that’s impeccable business for a near 30 year old.

My problem as always isn’t the departing players, it’s the plan to replace them. Most normal professional clubs at our level will have contingency plans in place in the event that clubs who financially dwarf us want our best players.

Meanwhile we can’t do the bare minimum never mind replace Kyogo, but that probably shouldn’t detract from the fact that this is a no brainer for a player who’s given us outstanding service in the prime of his career, and a no brainier for the club if the fee is acceptable.

 

I don’t think he’ll go to them but i think he would be such a clever signing for them.

I sit and watch him closely from my area at CP and his movement is genuinely as good as it gets in the game.

dread to think how many tap ins he gets if it happens, their players will find him in places ours can’t even spot him.

 

Irritates the life out of me that we never feed him more. Must be so frustrating for him knowing he could be getting on the end of so many through balls but the intelligence of our players are that jobby they never see it at the right time, or just don’t have the skill to produce it.

 

To be fair i dont think we can. The teams have started parning the bus completely against us. As fast as a team have a go he will score so they just set up that way.

It’s a lot easier to see his run from the back row of the Jock Stein but it’s always been a huge frustration watching him ignored every time.

Only two players that have understood him have been O’Riley and Rogic. Mooy always had the passing range and looked for him too.

 

Ralston is always looking for him , he probably tries as much as anyone else to find him .

 

O’Riley had moments with kyogo lost season too especially at the start of if the season and in CL.
His runs are top class and suits man city.

Sky sports news reporting Kyogo is one of several striker options for city - that's a downgrade on the one of two striker options previously reported.

I just don’t see him going to Man City. Even if he did. That * Guardiola would probably play Kyle Walker up front first

 

I wonder how many of those ‘lifelong’ Manchester City fans have even heard of Kyogo never mind watch him play?!?

How many of us had before he came from japan? He's got a higher profile now than then, plenty of neutrals will have watched our euro games, and they'll have seen him against them in pre-season.
