Regardless of what happens we can't let him have to take as much of a lead with things in future. It's so evident.

Glad he referenced the structure the other day. Has to be looked at as soon as the window shuts.

nobody wants it but we would all understand it.

In practise it is not even an option given how he left last time and what he said on his return in the media with the emptied patter.

What a gun to his head the board have with that if he was ever to give an ultimatum.

Will be the usual. He was be asked if there is any progress. BR will say he hopes to get a few in and that they are working hard behind the scenes. Probably will dismiss the Kygo rumours. No reporter will ever ask why the clubs recruitment is a shamble. It's been the same interview since we returned for preseason.

A bit of honesty would be nice. Maybe they could explain why things are so difficult. Are bids getting rejected? Are players not interested? Are we actually making offers or just monitoring? Is there money available or do we need to sell first?

At least the huns have told the fans they are skint and have to sell first. We are left hoping, dreaming what we could achieve with some added quality and ultimately feeling dissapointed every window without any understanding.

Our sales outweight our spend always and that's before taking into account all the other revenue and 80m sitting in the bank.

Brilliant post mate, I think you said everything that needs to be said or asked. One question I'd love to see asked is would he consider his position if he wasn't backed like before.. if we come out of the window the same or even weaker than last season if any 2 of MOR, Kyogo and Reo leave he must think what's the * point..

You'd think one of those redtop rag "journalists" would love to get under his skin with a question like that or any serious questions like you said

As far as im concerned Rodgers is complicit in this fuckery.

Unless he comes out, addresses the tragic state of our recruitment and transfer policy, and publicly admonishes the board for their lack of transparency and ambition, then he's just as responsible as the rest of them.

Anymore soundbites about everyone working hard, or difficult windows, or getting the "right" players in, and Ill be calling for his * head along with Desmond and Lawwells.
This bullshit is effectively colluding with the board to * fans out of their money.

"Elite" manager or not, he has a duty to the fans and team, not the * BoD.

As much as I'd like this I just don't think it's realistic.

I can't think of many managers who have actually been as plain in front of the press regarding issues with their current employers.

Knowing Rodgers as we all do and his professionalism I just don't see that happening. I don't think it should be used as a slight on him.

Rodgers is hardly gonna speak out against the Board whilst he's the manager.

Will be very interesting to see his demeanour today.

Hes already done it once before. "I dont need any more wingers".

Its not a case of him coming out and calling Desmond and Lawwell *.

Its about giving an honest account of what is happening. He COULDN'T be happy with this window. He just couldn't.

So if he comes out with anything less than "im NOT happy with how this window is going, we need to do better", then imo he's Neil Lennon Mk2, who defended Lawwell and Desmond right up until they made him a sacrificial lamb to cover theyre own incompetence.

As i said, any soundbites of "everyone is working hard" or "its tough to find the right players", then he can literally go fist himself, and he can join Lawwell and Desmond on the * list of scum who are fleecing the fans.

It would be good for some level of clarity though.

Whilst I wouldn't expect him to bombard those in charge publicly, we have a week left, our two key players being linked away heavily, and still no new outfield players in compared to last year.

The fallout from this window if things don't change drastically next 7 days would be insane.

Have to wonder what the players already here think as well.

I'm sure mcgregor has spoken in the past about wanting quality in etc. The players if they have anything about them would recognise that the squad needs to be strengthened.

He needs to get a bit passive aggressive at the very least. Remember Ange? “Clearly I haven’t done enough to persuade the board of what we need” or something to that effect.

If this window ends without the 5 signings we need, we as a fan base need to take a stand. Wide scale boycotts and demonstrations outside Parkhead.

By my count, its twice in three years, where the captain has responded to questions about incoming transfers, and stated clearly that more quality is needed.

The past two managers have clearly stated they want / need more quality too.

    The fans demand more quality.

What more is it gonna take is the question. The board are clearly IGNORING the situation, and are adhereing to their 20 year old financial plan, which started with downsizing under Strachan and hasnt shifted an inch since.
