Not 100% sure on how it works but sure with the Saudi players coming back to UK they will have a massive tax bill on monies earned so we would probably be the last place he'd come back to if he wanted to keep his money. Think its a big part of why Jordan Henderson went to Ajax.

As I understand it, this wouldn’t apply to Jota due to the UK not being deemed his permanent domicile.

Having Jota back would slightly lessen losing Kyogo and O’Riley.

    Can’t see it happening though.

Surely only on money earned while living here though? Anything he's earned while the UK hasn't been his permanent residence, he won't be paying tax to the UK.
Yeah, until he was (hypothetically) come back here and work/live, then it won't matter.

There could be an issue with a loan deal and where that tax gets paid, as he would have to make the UK his permanent residency - no way he could circumvent any 90day rules or whatever on a season long loan.

Like I said I don't really know what the rules are etc. just know it was mentioned as a stumbling block for Henderson and has been seen as a bit of a catch for players to consider when moving to the Saudi league. They have to stay and work there for 2 years to get all the wages as well I think and if they don't then essentially the Saudis will take a huge amount of it back in tax.

I'd not know either, but that would shock me if the case, for the two year thing.

110% should be throwing our name into the hat if that's the case.

I’m surprised that considering some of the dross that Ange has, Spurs aren’t in for him. Better than Brennan Johnson and that guppy Werner.

Absolutely should be able to compete with Rennes here.

There top earner is on €70k a week, after that is a fee at around the 40-50k mark, then the bulk are at 10-30k.

They aren't gonna break that 70k and pay half his wages, so you have to assume the Saudis are happy to pay the whole or vast majority of Jota wage.

The question should be asked of him to return.

Although I would get it from a Jota perspective that perhaps he would rather the time to showcase his talents in a league that's got more big clubs watching him for his next permanent move.

But one look at Kyogo and MOR links should convince him that can be the case here too.

Keeping the squad we have and adding Jota, along with the other key positions to fill, would be huge and I would be excited for the season.

HITC can also confirm that Celtic are interested in bringing fans’ favourite Filipe Jota back to the green side of Glasgow

HITC understands Celtic have enquired about a loan deal. Al-Ittihad would prefer to sell, however, with Ligue 1 outfit Rennes also making their interest known.

I can't imagine we would be willing to pick up anything close to the wages required to get him on loan.

No chance he’s coming back he’d have to take a 90% wage reduction!

Would any of us do that?

    Nah
