This where it's stemmed from

 

Had a look on the City forum just out of curiosity and they seem to think there’s something in it, and are all pretty positive about signing Kyogo.

Apparently they’re after someone low profile who is content to play backup to Haaland whilst still being able to contribute.

I can’t see it though. Just don’t think City would be after him, probably an older player with some experience like Dybala.

 

It’s a low risk transfer for them… low cost, happy to play back up. If pep wanted the low down on him he can ask iniesta how good he is from their time playing together? Has a good relationship with Desmond.

it’s scary but I actually think there could be something in this. He’d suit city’s play and I think they’d give us a good fee as a gesture of good will with the relations both clubs have

 

Worryingly this feels like it makes sense. They want a back up for Haaland, who won't complain and fits the system. He'd fit all of those boxes. He'd score for fun in that system, and Pep likes a left field signing.

Are they actually naming him? The rumour came from an Athletic reporter vaguely describing Kyogo last night without naming him directly
