Hes been a great player especially last season losing him is pretty gutting,but the 22/3 season when we won the treble, the mainstay midfield was usually mooy, hatate mcgregor with oriley coming off the bench, big big loss but not irreplaceable

 

I think that was purely down to the fact Ange couldn't get the best out of O'Riley, he was still good that season but I don't think he fully suited Angeball.

He is 1000% suited to the way Brendan plays, down to a tee, it's his ideal midfielder. He's going to be near impossible to replace.

Thinking of he is tax free in Saudi, but works in the UK, what tax does he then pay?
Same as in France, it's 50% tax for over a certain level or something (remembering back to something I read when Beckham went to PSG).

The tax is paid for where you physically work, not where your employer is - I believe that's standard for any industry. So even if I'm employed by a USA company that works in the UK, I pay UK/Scottish tax.

Same for a footballer then? And would that dictate do you think on (other) players agreeing to loan deals or not elsewhere.
I get some players ask for higher wages when they go to some countries to counter the tax of course.

He can't come back to the UK for 3 years am sure for tax reasons

Yes, Brighton might be breaking the Scottish transfer record by a million pounds but that record for KT was broken years ago and, as we all know, prices have rockets by almost 50% so we should be looking for a helluva lot more than the reported £25 million

 

We'll get far more for O'Riley than KT though..

A mill more with bonuses and or a sell on as he won't be at Brighton forever..

Hopefully we get Engels and possibly McCowan in straight away and use the funds to get left back, left centre half and the wing sorted..
