We've spent a good wedge on Idah and Bernado already. Sinisalo on an undisclosed fee, probably about £1M or so, and Schmeichel on a free. First team ready players, no projects, the way the manager wants it.

Still time to spend more in the window. I would rather we had targeted sensible signings, instead of shots in the dark.

 

Surprised he’s not got his move

 

I'm pretty sure it's gonna happen this window, like a lot of the bigger money moves I think it relies on someone going first and then the players all kinda fall like dominoes in series going to and from various teams.

 

I've always wondered about the sell on thing. If a club sells for say 40 million and we get 10% does the selling club get the 40 million right away and us the 10% or is it paid to both our clubs over time?

 

I may be wrong but I’m sure the selling club pay us the 10% directly. The buying club pay the full fee requested for the player

I thought it was definitely going to happen but the fact no one met his buyout clause before it expired made me wonder.

He didn’t start Leverkusen’s last game right enough so maybe is something that could still happen. It wouldn’t surprise me as you say if there is a chain, there was a lot of talk of Kimmich leaving Bayern if that happened then they may move for him.

The one thing that goes against him is the full debate of where do you play him at the top level. Leverkusen had a unique system where he played as a sort of wingback/ winger with a back 3 behind him and one of the back three was traditionally a right back.

 

We’ve spent peanuts really when you look at who we have sold.

Haksabanovic - £2.5m
Lawal - £3m
Oh - £4.5m

So we have spent roughly £3-4m. That’s not a wedge given the finances we have available.

 

Very good point, never thought about that. Maybe he isn’t as lucrative a signing as would first seem to the biggest clubs around the world in their respective systems

 

Also £1m for Giakomakis moving on and about £750k for vata and Kelly and abada moved too in March that money wasn't spent either

That was January just since march when abada left its been about £20m in now and £13m spent and with khun we got £3m for turnbill and idegauchi which covered him

 

Leverkusen just signed another right back from PSG on loan.
