Daniel Sandu (31 years old), sports director at Rapid, spoke exclusively for iAMsport.ro about the situation of Neil Lennon (53 years old) at the Giulești club.

Neil Lennon has not recorded the best results on the technical bench of Rapid, since his arrival in the summer at the club from Giulesti.

The British coach would no longer be on the bench for the "white-cherries" in the match with Poli Iași, which will take place on Friday, August 23, informs Digi Sport

Daniel Sandu's reaction on Neil Lennon
Contacted by iAMsport.ro , Daniel Sandu specified the situation of the Northern Irish technician at Rapid at this moment.

"I know that Mr. Neil Lennon is in training now, so I have nothing to say. He's at the Constructor at the base, we have training at this time.

(no. So his departure is not expected?) I don't think so. I haven't heard of anything like that," said Daniel Sandu.

    Neil Lennon refuses to resign
Supporters of the team near Grant Bridge are unhappy with the former Celtic manager's results and have repeatedly called for his resignation. He declared that he will remain on the team's bench.

”(no Do you know what resignation means?) I don't know what it means. (no the fans have been chanting you, they want you gone) They've been wanting me to resign for 3 weeks now, it's not going to happen, I understand there's a lack of patience, but I think we're above expectations now given the lack of value in certain areas and what we inherited. I'm very disappointed and frustrated that I didn't win. The players give everything, but we have no luck" , said Neil Lennon, at the end of the match with Dinamo

I think only Scottish championship sides would only take a gamble on him you look at managers like Tony doc and how professional he is bit of a bench mark these days

Not sure cut his teeth is the correct term, he's won 5 Leagues, 4 Scottish Cups and a League Cup as manager..

Re-establish himself in Scotland maybe better.

He should get back in a tv studio. He’s a good pundit.

I get the urge to be involved in football every day, but he is a wealthy man and should step back from all the hassle.

Why further tarnish his diminishing football reputation? He’s been at the top with us and he’s not getting a gig anywhere that will allow him to savour those highs again. Only lows await. He’d maybe get a Hibs type job again, but for what? Two or three seasons?

Time to chill Lenny and enjoy watching Sevco struggle and Celtic prosper!

Neil Lennon has officially been sacked by Rapid Bucharest.

The former Celtic boss was on the brink after a porr start that yielded a return of just no wins in six matches.

And the Romanian outfit have moved quickly to source a replacement, confirming Marius Sumudica as their new head coach.

Today, Neil Lennon and FC Rapid decided to go their separate ways.

We thank Neil and his staff for their commitment and professionalism, and we wish them continued success

No chance he was gonna resign. We seen that the last time he was here. No matter how poor results get or how unprofessional he behaves hes never gonna give up that pay off.

Lying about a pool drinking while we were in lockdown and 10 points behind the huns wasn't exaggerated though.

Also I can't help but feel the stories of him being half cut and * on the training ground last month were probably true aswell.

He's so far out of touch with modern football and the levels of professionalism required. This really should be his last gig although youd never put anything past lawwell and Desmond when it comes to their favourite puppet.

    Never said that

But to assume he's just spending his days in pubs is ridiculous

Been numerous incidents over his career where he's been in situations that most in his position wouldn't be caught in.

It's unprofessional and generally always involves drink

Some probably have aye but the one Iv highlighted of him during covid season and the video of him in the Newcastle hotel in full celtic gear are difficult to argue against no?

    * on the pitch story may be bollocks, who knows but was plenty of folk claiming it to be true also.

He's a polarising figure and folk like yourself are fully entitled to defend him. Loved him during his time as a player but his managerial time here over both spells soured that but not as much as his attitude towards the fans after his dismissal did or his constant sucking up to this 2 * Lawwell and Desmond

The more you want something to be true it becomes true in yer mind

I think he has a problem with the professionalism needed in the modern game.

I’ve always felt he could do a job scouting. You could also see him coming into teams on a temporary basis to steady the ship when things go * up mid-season.
