Correct mate but as brendan said we spent £7.3m on two players hoping to flip them for £15m when now we are left with them when we could have just spent £7.3m on 1 player and maybe made £20m. * £8.3m was getting you o'shea apparently

Board seem focused on an O'reilly replacement and thats fair enough as its needed but out of all positions a starting centre half and left back should have been in the building in January never mind at the end of August.

Recruitment team brought us these players and it was clear Rodgers didn’t fancy either from the start so just cut your losses, both should be out the door by now but we are wanting to get our money back on 2 players the manager had no time for. No one wants to lose money on players but at the end of the day they are not whats required so they have to go, having 2 players in that position just now is still no excuse not to go and find better.

Left back is the clear priority for me.

Taylor can play week to week but he gets rinsed about in Europe, always get a flash back of the Bodo winger taking him to the cleaners & ending up on his *.

As it stands next summer Bernabei is our only left back as Taylor still hasn’t signed a new deal.

genuinely seems like we're only capable of working on one deal at a time. all our efforts going into selling O'Riley just now. embarrassing.

Lagerbielke linked with a season loan to Herenveen strange one considering how much interest he had in Italy in January and start of summer window

Every day I become more infuriated with the board.

    Excuses with windows gone by...

    - there's not a bag full of cash, we spend what we get in.

We have over £100m in the bank. We do have bags full of money, we don't spend it.

    - players aren't available in the winter window

We're in the summer window where players leave. Clubs don't want our money? * off.

    - we tried.

I could genuinely do a better job working 4hrs a day on my own.

It annoys me because they'll point to how much they've spent/bought but completely look the other way with the money we've brought in through sales and competition money.

I have a feeling that our entire budget was based off of O'Riley's situation. I'm including Idah's transfer in that as well.

We know we'll rake in a lot of money from O'Riley but we'll spend a fraction of that. In reality, we should be spending the entire fee we get for O'Riley because we'd still be swimming in baths of cash from the Champions League.

It's appalling that we have done literally * all in the last 4 or 5 windows and we're still being tin pot.

We've done nothing for the last 2 months when we know exactly what we need.

See even if we do sign the players we need, the board are still utter * for putting us through this.

Any one who has an ounce of knowledge from watching football transfers could see how this would play out for us.

We would have positions we want to strengthen like left back and left centre back regardless of anyone leaving or not, needing another striker is another one but we dragged our heels. See when we got the two keepers in that is when the majority of those other players should have been in, certainly between then and the Kilmarnock game.

It then means you are not chasing all those deals alongside potentially having to replace your player of the year and other first choice starting centre midfielder. Or it even gives you options, for example it offered £15m or more for Hatate, that’s probably worth considering given his fitness issues and consistency problems, not to mention how open he has been about wanting to play in a better league.

It’s the same with players we have on our books, we know they will more than likely leave and it’s the management of the clubs job to understand through the player and their agent how keen they are on a move.

Yes transfers aren’t easy and there is a lot to consider but we really do seem to hinder ourselves with the approach we take.

I would have prefered to sell MOR two weeks ago for 5 million less to Atalanta. I dont give a flying * about Peter and Co getting 3-4 extra million leaving it to when it is 1 week left on the window to get half a team sorted. If every penny gets reinvested i can forgive it, but never otherwise.

It leaves the whole club in danger of the benefit of the suits.

Aye to still not have the left back and centre half positions upgraded is a joke. There was always a good chance O’Riley was going to go this window. We all knew that at the end of last season. Have we got his replacement lined up ready to go? That’s what Brighton are doing before they sell Gilmour. Are we as proactive as that?

Is this our last season of guaranteed UCL football? If so, surely this is the year to strengthen and have a real crack at competing in it. We may not get another chance under Rodgers.

Looking at the squad, obviously a quality midfielder and LB are priorities, but CB could also be so key to our season.

Not wanting to jinx it, but if CCV were to get injured again, whoever we bring in would be someone who hasn't played much football for a long time. Not to mention the big drop in quality from CCV. And whether it's Welsh or Nawrocki, both have pretty * injury records as well.

That all points to a situation like last season where you're dropping needless points, and that's before you even start to think of a Champions League CB pairing of Welsh and Scales *shudder*

Our recruitment wasn't good last season and it's lead us to a point where we may have to make some tough decisions and even look to cut our losses on a couple of these CBs. Because as much as you can't just keep accruing CBs, you also can't persist with a situation where all but one or arguably two just aren't up to it.
