Korean Mikey Johnston.

Needs a loan, buckets of skill but no final ball whatsoever. You never expect him to assist or score and that's a problem.

 

He needs loaned out this season, he isn’t at the necessary level for us just now. His end product is awful more often than not. His decision making is also pretty woeful. He does have a lot of trickery to create space for himself but he is then so slow to make his mind up after he makes that space the first piece becomes irrelevant.

 

Nowhere near it, doubt he’ll make it here tbh.

 

Mikey Johnston is a better player for me..

Quicker and better in the final third and even he's no good enough..

 

Like others have said, I can’t see him making it here.

Would be on the let go list for me.

 

Mikey is 3 years older though. Give the bhoy a chance. A loan can work wonders. Has happened with plenty of players in the past.

 

His lack of pace/acceleration is a problem for me. That can't be coached, his end product is just nowhere near it and was the same in his homeland..

We need better..

 

I can see why we took him tbh. He now needs the gametime and confidence to get better.

Totally agree. Ideally we’d send him out on loan to an SPFL side who are local enough that he doesn’t have to move house etc. Give him a year of first team football while still giving him the chance to settle into his surroundings.

The biggest issue with that is that so few teams in our league actually play with wingers.

 

I’d loan him out for a season first; see how he develops.

 

Might be a good idea, it’s a good way of drumming up interest also if we want to sell and he has a successful loan spell.

 

He’s not slow but not particularly quick. Can go past players occasionally but then has no end product.

I like his work rate and his knack of wanting to drive at players, but he’s not the required standard, even as a back up.

Loan him for a season and take it from there. Wonder if St Mirren would be keen.

 

The issue is so few of these teams play with wingers. Dundee would maybe be a decent shout as they typically play a front three with wingers/wide forwards.

Everyone in the league seems to play with a back 3/5 so it’s more a wing back and Yang would definitely not suit that.

I actually wonder if he is one that we could get down the top of league 1/ bottom of English Championship level, see if he does ok and bump up his price to sell him on.

 

Is it not limited to one loan from one club in the premiership?
