    Hopefully he stays.

But I still worry that him not going will curtail other business we do. Regardless of what the boss has said.

It’s all well and grand until a team bid €30m two days before the deadline and we’re left up shitcreek without a paddle.

If MOR stays, they'll no be caring.

I know he'll probably still go but it gives me hope we've told a club to * off. I never thought we'd ignore an offer over £20m, what's happened to us.

This is my issue with us, or should I say one of them. We should be strengthening irrespective of what happens with O’Riley. We have millions upon millions in the bank plus the CL money and by the way, we’ve sold a few this window for a few bob also. I can’t believe we won’t spend until a deal for O’Riley is done. Are they hoarding the money incase we don’t get into the CL next season, rather than assembling a team that a year further down the line, would be in a much better position to qualify through the knockouts??

Mate, I’m not having a cheap dig, but a bit of grammar, please. I genuinely can’t understand one bit of that, and I’ve read it three times.

    Completely agree.

They lost patience with us after they have been low balling us. Do they not think that we've lost patience with them after offering ridiculous bids?

I hope after their fifth bid of £21.7m we turned around and just said £50m is the new price.

I hope O'Riley isn't affected by all this, which is Atalanta's strategy. He's a pro and will get his love within the next 12 months (probably within the next 2 weeks).

I wouldn't sell to Atalanta now even if they come back with the correct cash. They've wasted our time. * them.

If he was pushing for the move then 22m would have been accepted, so we have that. Don't think it's a guarantee he stays though, some other clubs may come in if their plan a falls through.

Question is now that Atlanta have pulled out then how is the player himself handling it? Will he throw the toys out the pram? Once in a lifetime opportunity for him for somewhere he supposedly wanted to go. In football those windows of opportunity are narrow with the threat of injury or form hampering moves. Personally the questions remains can he sustain that level this season and will he have the same value if he goes next year? Did the club haggle too much and should have sold him at his possible peak?
