Mate, if you're going to keep quoting the same thing over and over, could you please stop including the typo?

If the board spend now, we have chance to bury them….. they won’t have a penny now and we can be years ahead!

I am not sure exactly but the TV revenue for Scotland is a cut of the UK pot, if there is one team they get the full pot, if there are two you have to split it 55 to 45 in favour of the league champions. So we get the full lot.

With it being the extended format I don’t know what the UK tv pool is. I think it’s about 10% of that goes to Scotland.

Just hoping them not being able to spend doesn't mean the cheque book goes AWOL again.

Gonna try and be a bit more positive than in recent weeks and hope that the next 2 weeks or so see things open up down south and allow us to get some good deals.

Evident that's what Rodgers is lookin to do. I don't think we should have such a focus on England but with the recruitment team the way it is atm, I don't mind him taking a lead. But it does need sorted.

    Cmon celtic. Huge chance here.

If that's the worst thing you can find to complain about on a transfer thread, must be a good transfer window for you then :86:

    How do we bury them?

We've won 12 of the last 13 leagues and 7 of the last 10 Scottish & League Cups, they've won 1 league, and 1 cup each.

They're the one's that's digging their own grave just like they did last time, not much we can do to help them speed it along as much as we'd all like it to happen.

As we all know Rodgers only wants players from the English premier league. He’ll be waiting to see which players aren’t in the picture for their squads down there and hope to get loan to buys or deals towards the end of the window.

Just regarding the last part of your post about speeding things along.

Back in Strachen’s last season he asked for a forward to help him win the league and he got Willo Flood.

We lost the league handed them champions league money and the continued mismanagement gave them another two titles before they died.

There is no doubt about it if we had got that window right they would have went under quicker due to their financial mismanagement and cheating of the system.

Could getting the players that Rodgers really needs in do it all over again? Only time will tell.

Because of the way we have went about this window, we had no choice but to pay that fee for Idah. Theres seriously better value for 10m out there, Miovski is a better standard and 3m less

I'm starting to think our transfer budget was probably about £25-£30m and thats why we're holding out for that number for O'Riley. So (hypothetically) £8.5m on Idah up front plus the £1m on Sinisalo give us £20.5m left. So we could spend roughly £6-7m each on a CB, LB and midfielder or winger with the other being a possible loan or LTB. That would probably satisfy the majority of us and we'd still be in overall profit on player trading! Wages wise I'm assuming the board are wanting more off the books before sanctioning signings at that kind of level, assuming most of those would be commanding £20k p/w upwards.

Edit: forgot completely about Bernardo - lol. so about £17m leftover for 3-4 signings. Still a decent chunk to spend £5-6m per player plus a loan.

Why is he better? He scored 16 goals. Idah scored 9 goals as a sub in 19 games. Goals per minute are near double.

Your opinion, but for me going back 15 years to reference Willo Flood has zero to do with nowadays. Yes, Rankers won the league that season, the following season beat us by 1 point and since then we've won 12 out of 13 leagues in a row. Also at that time Rankers were knee deep in EBT's so comparing their current situation with back then is night and day, same with our relevant situations too.

We've just signed Idah and back then got Willo Flood, would say we're far better off now squad wise in comparison to Sevco.

Unless a meteor hits Celtic Park I can't see any way we won't win the league for the next foreseeable seasons...........

Yes, we still need first team players to come in to improve the team (CB, LB, Winger, etc.), but that's to help us do better in Europe, the only thing we can do better in Scotland this season is win the treble.

I rate Miovski but he had 4 goals in his last 19 games for Aberdeen.

Also, he's never played for celtic. This was mentioned on Clyde Ssb last night. You'd be paying 2.5m less but you'd be taking a risk that he handles the pressure at our club.

We know Idah can and in massive moments. That has to be factored in.

Plus, and crucially, the manager wanted him. Not Miovski.

Still buzzing with yesterdays result but ultimately our board now won’t go too heavy on transfers ourselves

It's always risky after a huge impressive season. If we win a treble, do amazing in europe, beat goal records etc. Players drop motivation. Some leave. Sometimes big world pandemics come along and * us over. We will win the majority but the odd one they may get. Just takes us to have a bad season like last year and them to manage an extra 10 penalties. We need to keep strengthening so that doesn't happen.
