Regards Kelly I don't thing we've done much wrong. Rodgers started to bleed him in to the first team, he's been offered a decent contract and according to the manager a pathway to the first team this season. I can't see what else we could have done.

Unfortunately it seems like young players are using us as a stepping stone to get bigger money elsewhere, many of them before they've even been considered a top prospect for us.

Kelly would be swapping being a promising first team squad player here for going back to the youths elsewhere. Maybe for more money initially but in the long run it may backfire for himself.

Here's a thought. For all the negativity around our youth set-up we are now regularly being targeted by top European clubs for our youth players. So, up to a point we are clearly doing something very well.

He'll not be missed. It's his career, and if he thinks moving on for more money is right for him, good luck . Theres a few playing in lower leagues who could have been players but went away too soon.

Why's he away training in Portugal anyway? Are the youth team there? He's under contract with us until December. Obviously we don't know the full story, but doesn't sit right with me.

    Let the people sing
Whenever we lose our players to the likes of Liverpool,, Bayern and the likes, there's usually a mix of "We should have done more to keep him" and "We had no chance when they came in". Then you've got guys like Vata who was overhyped and the drama surrounding him wasn't worth it, but Watford isn't the worst move.

    Millwall? What a joke.

Not a bad move really, he will get game time and possibly put himself out to a decent sized audience.

    Millwall... horrible *...

Hate seeing our youth leave especially to * like Millwall but ya can't really blame them. These young lads want to play, he'll get more of a chance at doing that at Millwall than in our midfield.. but still... * Millwall

Agents are making themselves a nice packet whilst flushing young players careers down the toilet.

English Championship side Millwall are set to win the race to sign Celtic midfielder Daniel Kelly.

The 18-year-old, who hails from East Kilbride, has been frozen out of the Hoops' first team squad by Brendan Rodgers after turning down a new deal at Celtic Park earlier this summer, leaving Kelly to play in the Lowland League with the B team until his contract expires on December 31.

But Lanarkshire Live Sport understands Kelly is set to make a decision on his future. Talks have been held with the Lions about a move down south in January to play first-team football and, despite interest from a number of clubs across Europe including Bayer Leverkusen, London is now expected to be his next destination.

Kelly enjoyed a fantastic breakthrough season with the Celtic first team last term, netting his first senior goal on his debut in a 7-1 win over Dundee at Celtic Park in February, and making five appearances as the Hoops won a league and cup double

The former St Leonards Primary School pupil first caught the eye of Celtic playing above his age group for East Kilbride Caledonian Thistle's 2004 team and has been with the Hoops ever since

But now his spell with his boyhood heroes is set to come to an end

Rocco Vata wanted to play football and he's barely played for Watford since going there.

Will end up out on loan at an Scottish Premiership club by the end of the year.

why is the journalists in this country so poor ? Daniel Kelly has been terribly advised and managed from a non Celtic position. The young man was given an opportunity with rewards that’s would have given him goals and demands to push on and better his footballing but personal life. The young man has displayed an attitude of ignorance and naivety, looking over the years the young players to have left Celtic Feruz, Morrison, Hepburn Doak to name a few have not furthered themselves to the extent that they had hoped or been advised on. If young lads are not interested in putting graft and development into themselves as to move into a first team regular then ultimately these players are not Celtic quality, nor standard.
I don’t wish any ill on any of them, but move them along asap don’t even play them in the B team give it to a lad that loves and dreams of pulling on the hoops.
