    I think you’ll find he’ll be away this week now, there’s no coincidence that all the finer details of the Idah deal were released to our pals in the media tonight. That’s a blow softener.

    We better spend a good chunk of his fee on his replacement, properly scouted and with goals and assists in him.

    Atalanta continues to press Celtic for Matt O'Riley. In the last few hours, the Bergamo club have presented a new offer to the Scottish club, increasing their last proposal by 17 million euros


    An announced relaunch, but still considered not enough. A new offer will therefore be needed to * the 2000-born talent from Celtic, who is coming off a super 2023-24 season for the Dane owned by the Scots: 37 appearances in the league, seasoned with 18 goals and 13 assists.


    He is the number one target for Atalanta, who are looking for a replacement for Teun Koopmeiners, who is now on the fringes of the squad and is likely to leave. The Dutchman's situation is closely linked to that of O'Riley


    Until the Nerazzurri have closed on the arrival of the Celtic midfielder (or someone else) there will be no green light, regardless of the price, for the sale of Koopmeiners, on whom Juventus remains heavily pressuring.

    Bit mental if we are waiting to spend until he goes. Sad really as ideally you want to try and build around him and add to the quality.

    Regardless, given how difficult it is to keep him, we still have funds there.

    Not sure if it's totally relevant to them signing O'Riley but Atalanta have hijacked Napoli's move for Brescianini. Meant to be a loan with a buy option of £12m.

    As well as Koopmeiners they have also let Miranchuk go to MLS.

    However they have signed a lot of centre midfielders this summer.
