Since march we have took in around £19.5m

Idah won't be £8.5m upfront it will be like how miovski was £7m this morning then it was £4.2m with £2.6m addon

Even if it was though that's still only £13m spent with more sales to come no doubt

 

Cynic in me thinks kyogo shoulder is * and that's why we have had to pay the dosh

And then a winger in on a deadline day loan

 

£8.5m seems a lot but in this new crazy world of football I'd say it's probably about right.

We live in a world we're miovski is worth £7m and oh is worth £4m then it stand to reason idah is £8.5m.

In all honesty, whilst we are crying out for more - if the board bought one more player at £8.5m as opposed to spending it across 3 or 4 more players then I'd probably feel happier.

For me, this is what our future should look like. Don't go signing in a scatter gun approach on a load of potentials. Work smart, put decent sums into 1,2 or maybe 3 players each year and we will kick on to a higher level

 

It isn't.

Miovski is a proven commodity coming from a club that simply cannot command the same fees as us. Oh was insanely overvalued at £4m, incredible we ever got that.

Idah is like a £6.5m player, tops. Norwich are infamous for overvaluing players, they had Cantwell valued at like £18m at one point. We've been fleeced and I suspect it is because Kyogo's shoulder is looking iffy and we have literally no other irons in the fire.

I know I'm being very negative, he will absolutely get goals for us. But we'll not see £8.5m back on him, nae chance.

 

It's not the excess fee it's the likelihood that the board * the deal up and we're forced to pay it as kyogos * his shoulder...if you have been hibernating the last three transfer windows, the whole thing stinks with the way transfers are being done. Wouldn't be surprised they say "look we spent over 9 million so why are you all complaining" and the fans will lap it up and we start this whole thing again in jan. the root of the problem has yet to be fixed. No scouting system and no DoF.

 

Some folk on here are honestly a total embarassment.

We'll get a centre mid but no 100% sure it'll be a 6. Probably an 8......unless Iwata vets shipped out..

Hope we get a winger in who can play either side comfortably..

I've no doubt we'll sign a left back and centre half but we really need to get some of the latter shipped out..

Hmm isn't the value of a player defined by how much a buying club will pay for that player?

And also we cannot make every signing about what the resale will be. Sometimes it is ok to see a healthy return on your investment via football results.

Agree with all of that. Tonight should give everyone more confidence. Aye it's slow but we've laid out a big fee for Rodgers man, whatever anyone's opinions are on it..

We've signed zero duds and outfield projects. I think it's clear we're going for first teamers and maybe first teamers only bar the smart backup keeper signing and maybe third choice striker option after Idah..

I think we'll deffo see at least another big money signing and then perhaps some loan to buys..

 

Like you say him scoring goals can be more valuable than any future transfer fee. Some of his goals against Hibs away, Motherwell away and huns away won us the league imo. Brought us in the champions league money.
