as well as he has done i personally still think we need a better player in that position for me he is kind of like Ralston a good back up player who could still play 20+ ish games a season but not as our first choice

 

He'll be 26 in 3 days, mate. He's coming into his prime. He's not suddenly not good enough; he's quite consistently not quite been good enough to be a long-term solution. It's his purple patch last autumn that is the anomaly.

I think he was our weakest player in that one match yesterday; I certainly don't think he's been our weakest player in general.

That doesn't mean he's crap or that I'm not grateful. He's decent enough and without him, we wouldn't have won the league last year. I disagree just as much with the folk who say he's crap. I just think we need someone at least as good as Starfelt for Europe and the derbies.

 

Mad how differently people interpret a game. Thought he was as good as anyone else who put in the strongest performances yesterday, ie Hatate, Kyogo etc.

 

Probably because he did do some very good things. Obviously the goal and also 2 or 3 genuinely outstanding passes. I just think the bad outweighed that, but ymmv.

Scales is only a goal away from another man of the match performance….

 

Would give my left * to never see him play for us again. He’s brutal.

The only thing he has going for him is he’s left footed so brings a sort of balance.

I don’t know any other strength to his game.

 

Scales being Scales, no-one should be surprised.

 

His passing and positioning are unbelievably bad, I've never got any faith in him to pass the ball to a teammate

 

Thing is it's no fair on him. Not his fault he's playing.

Will get absolutely found out in the CL. Can't be anywhere near that CB spot come end of August

Weak link today, no doubt

 

It's not just about replacing him with a better defender.
There is a massive chance to upgrade us as a team with the right signing.
So many times Kyogo makes great runs but Scales either doesn't see them or doesn't have confidence/ability to play the pass.

A ball playing centre back would make us a much more dangerous attacking team and give us another way of hurting teams and opening up games.

 

Desperately need to replace him and give CCV a top class partner.

I genuinely think he's better than Welsh but we really do need better.

 

His passing is chronic and is only highlighted further with Schmeichel spraying balls left right and centre
