Tbh a left back and centre back to partner ccv is enough for me ….even if oriley goes as we are stacked in centre of the park …. At start of the window I’ve always said left back centre back and keeper

Looking at us at end of last season. I though we needed 8 players signed. 2gk, the 2 loan players, a left back, a left centre back, an O'riley replacement and a winger. Think most of us would have been happy with that providing the rest of the squad stayed as it was.
The 2 key areas that clearly needed improved upon were left back and left centre half and arguably a winger, despite us having about 8 of them.

It appears the winger was to be the Belgian lad from Antwerp who's now injured so possibly we had no other option lined up or is one we will revisit in January.
It's doing the bare minimum but if the last 2 are a quality left back and left centre back. Then it's probably just about acceptelable.

However if it's 2 loans, particularly with no option to buy then it's not.

O'reilly will obviously need replaced too but he did mention a contingency plan for that yesterday.

Dissapointing he is not adding some fuel to the fire by stating the club is working on new faces but the club must expedite the changes just to say to the board, get your finger out and stop * about you tight *.

He'll be off the first chance he gets again I feel after these past few transfer windows.

Need to hope we fluke another Ange or it'll be Steve Clarke or some * in as a replacement.

He'll do his 3 years like he told the supporters he would but he'll be off at end of next season. He won't stick around any longer than that and no doubt similar comments about lack of ambition will be mentioned again.

The way things are going I wouldn’t blame him for leaving.

It's weird trio and relationship, Rodgers, Desmond and Lawell.

Desmond is biggest shareholder, legitimate billionaire, not interested enough to give his full attention, but clearly has a lot of friends and connections. Enter Rodgers!

Rodgers, is liked and well thought of by Desmond, and this must he true as he's well paid and Desmond has reached out...twice, to appoint him. But not enough, to give him exactly what he wants or back him unconditionally. So it appears, Lawell always has his ear.

Lawell, is a very shrewd accountant and to be respected for his business dealing off the field. Doesn't know how to run a football team but by in large has done, from afar for the last 20 years and is willing to tread on the toes of very good manager/coach, who is clearly in tight wi Desmond.

He and Rodgers have fallen out previously, which was a big factor in Rodgers leaving last time. But not enough to stop Rodgers from coming back.

It's a small indication of the lack of direction amd strategy with which the club is ran. We're being left behind comparable to other similar sized clubs in Europe and appear happy with this at a board room level. A post card amd bucket list trip for travelling fans.

And, it'll never be sorted as long as DD or Lawell are here. Nepotistic, parochial and small minded. That's us. Scotland best and a nose ahead of the huns. And we'll downgrade to continue this strategy.

Arseholes. Only interested in their own best interests.

I'm not even confident that we will beat Rangers this season as it stands. The gap last season was very small IMO and several of those derbies could have gone either way. As it stands, we haven't strengthened at all since last season and we are about to lose our best player. Even if Rangers just maintain their standard from last year, there's reason for concern; and if they actually strengthen, we could be in trouble.

And that's before we imagine going into the CL with this team minus MOR.

I'm not taking a position on whether we will get the signings we need by the time the window closes; but getting it right this summer is not optional.

I mean you said Clement had the better of Rodgers tactically after we dominated them at Parkhead last time, so no real surprise you actually think this.

OK, fine. But as long as you are fair. I didn't take a position on whether we will get in the quality signings we need, so there's no humble pie for me if we do so. I also said if Rangers stand still or improve, so again no humble pie for me if they implode.

But yes, if we don't make the signings we need and Rangers don't implode and yet we go on to win the league comfortably, you can do what you said above.

I don't think that is likely to happen though.
