Very photogenic birds John, when the sunlight hits them at the right angle their plumage colour is just stunning.

Thanks Bhoys, i've never seen a Red Kite around there, but earlier that day and the day previously when i went into the woods to re stock the bait i could hear what sounded like a large raptor calling close by up in the canopy, i found a recording on the Merlin app of a Buzzard which was a very close match to what i heard, the bird on the video sounds like it was under pressure, i wonder if it was because the Fox was around.

I was delighted to see my first Redstart of the year, a fine male seen on my local patch late this morning. It was a male coming out of full summer plumage on migration. Yes Autumn migrant starts in the late summer and this is a fine example of this.

My daughter and I were talking about this last night good friend. My son is getting married a week on Monday to an American girl. Lovely girl. My daughter is going up to Loch Lomond with the rest of the bridesmaids next Thursday. As most of them come from America, their dying to see some Scottish scenery. My daughter's excited about maybe seeing some migrants, even a migratory Osprey. We've seen them before at Loch Lomond so it's not a crazy idea that she might see one. Also a good chance to see a Redstart as they've been seen in the area too. That's where I had my only Redstart sighting. She's now looking forward to getting a wee spot of birdwatching rather than spending time with some crazy Americans.

Hope and know you and your fine family will have a great time at the Wedding good friend and yes with very good chances of seeing Osprey and a realistic chance of redstart. Also there are Jays in that area as well:50:

My wife has warned me, jokingly, that I must pay attention when the photos are getting taken and no looking around for the local wildlife. I can't promise I'll be good:56::56::56:
