Success is developing the brand and product internationally. This is done by completing in the euro competitions, increasing social media engagement, developing star players who are sold for BIG fees and building our player asset and property asset portfolio.

At the moment he is just treading water.

That's part of the problem, we are ALL guessing to a degree.
There is no evidence to counter my assumptions either, unless you have it?

So we, as fans, assess based on what we can see, flawed or otherwise.

I see and know the following.
    • We have £72M in the bank, rising to well over £100M imminently
    • We very nearly / should have lost the league and an additional £40M UCL to a team who have literally nothing in the bank and rely on soft loans to survive
    • We are an embarrassment in Europe versus comparably resourced clubs - indeed our so called poor relations have been to 2 euro finals since we did in 2003 and consistently out perform us - the main reason we have direct UCL entry and the roughly £100M over 3 years is their contribution to the coefficient, not ours.
    • Our recruitment has seen us gradually decline in terms of quality of players on the pitch - excepting a brief blip under Ange when he did the recruitment himself thanks to no other infrastructure at our club
    • Our poor European performance means that in future we will have to qualify for UCL, risking losing £40M per season revenue
So when you add that up and look for possible root causes, it's very hard to look past the stewards of our club and in particular to the CEO and chairman.
Even if the fine details are mainly speculation, the facts remain there are serious sporting underperformance issues that can potentially be addressed by good recruitment, more ambitious investments and actually using our financial resources/advantage - thats clearly not down to the coaching staff so that accountability rests squarely on the owner, the CEO and chairman etc.

I would be very happy if they would explain the financial and investment strategy v the sporting growth and performance in europe, then we'd all be better informed - but suspect no less frustrated.

Something that took me a couple of goes to clock there after @Jeannie960 post was this shitebag doing the offski rapid..

We know for a fact that he's the man who's heavily involved in dealing with our recruitment and he was as quick as anything to get away, before any abuse was levelled at Lawwell. When he should be doing the fronting up..

Another thing here is everyone has an opinion, the timing of our poor windows doesn't look good on Lawwell, but we actually don't know how involved he is now that he's chairman. I don't know for definite but my gut is he isn't as hands on as many seem to think anyway..

I agree with alot of what you say here. But let's get one thing right, we didn't "almost or should have" lost the league. We took 10 points from 12 against the Huns. We won the league on our own merit, whether they collapsed or not. Not a vintage season but let's not take the credit away from the team.

His long term safety should hinge on how many players are through the door come Friday at 11pm.

We need these 4 at the absolute minimum for this window to be salvaged.

    In your opinion maybe, aye.

If we don't replace MOR or sign a CB this window will have been a success? Nae chance. Cmon.

If we don't, you'll be right.

As it stands though, it's Wednesday evening...

I think we needed to address the 4 positions we are being linked with at the start of the window. Not saying it'd be a disaster but for me it wouldn't be viewed as a success as I'd still see areas of the team nit having been addressed and Rodgers wishes not fulfilled.

E.g. he wants 2x mids to replace MOR so if we only sign one that's not good enough given our resources for me and what the manager needs.

So to 'salvage' it as a success I'd want 4, personally aye. I'd say we need another quality winger as well given we still haven't replaced Jota but that seems like it'll need to wait. Again.

Nicholson finding out that waiting for last week or after injury to Kyogo with Idah that other clubs know we’re desperate with little time left this window so we’re being held to ransom on targets except a loan with no option to buy, Brendan has mentioned we need to look at our recruiting aye someone who knows what they’re doing would be a start

I honestly think he does this just to troll us.

I mean there’s no way someone is that specky without it being deliberate.
