He was loaned again for the 24/25 season with a buy-option of 10M€.

    These a
these are the kind of players we should be targeting, 8m€ ffs, instead we would rather sign 3 2m projects.

I agree but the issue is even if we went for him, he's choosing Benfica all day.

I actually believe that we do target these kinds of players but a lot of the time will struggle to get them over the line due to the difficulty in attracting them to Scotland.

Same time, there's a lot of players we could easily attract. But someone who was a standout in Germany is always gonna be hard.

I’ve even seen this window so many bigger leagues are going direct to Croatia for players between 18-22 whereas before they maybe made stepping stone moves to other leagues below that level. Football is that much of a business now I wouldn’t be surprised that in any deal we go into there’s another 6+ teams that are in for the same players.

I’d quite like us to start looking more at the African market for youths like red bull Salzburg do, and nordjsaelland; they’ve sourced some brilliant players over the last 5 years for no money at all. Feel like it’s the only market now that isn’t saturated

Celtic have been told that Wolves are planning for their season with Hugo Bueno still involved at Molineux.

The Spaniard is wanted on a season-long loan at Parkhead with the club's recruitment team putting in their time and effort on the left-back. It's a position the side desperately need to add reinforcements with just Greg Taylor the first-team option and Bueno has been identified since all the way back in January when he was not permitted to leave on loan.

Football Scotland understands that Wolves want to keep the 21-year-old at the club and have his name pencilled in with Gary O'Neil's first-team plans as the new Premier League campaign nears.

It's understood no final decision has yet been made on the full-back and it will not be made any time before the squad return from their pre-season camp in the USA.

Hopefully means we do not want a loan with no option to buy, I’ll take that as a good thing.

Loans without an option to buy are not where we should be as a club, so if that is the case so be it.

But but but we tried and Wolves said he wasn't available.

Really what happened is we wanted him on loan and pay peanuts towards his wages and they told us to * off.

Now, now…There’s absolutely no need for that logic in a time of such hysteria.

Certainly a possibility but if you were to stake a bet on which option which would you go with?

3 of our main targets going elsewhere or staying at their clubs.

Board going all out to back Rodgers clearly.

Another factor here feyenoord have probably pushed that little bit harder to get him

He'll be first choice no doubt

Its probably Wolves decision. From Wolves perspective he's getting CL football regardless and still at a big club, but in the Netherlands he'll be playing against a higher quality of winger than you'll find in Scotland.

It's why I keep banging on about how if you try and sign players of a higher calibre, you have to compete against teams at a higher calibre for their signature and it will be hard for us playing in Scotland
