The guy I quoted said they had us down as paying 16m for him, I wasn't making a point about transfermarket, just that that figure he mentioned is what we ended up paying for him. But it's getting off topic.

I don't believe that's how it works. we get paid and pay them their cut from it.

Jeez if we sell him this could well turn out to be the worst transfer window that I can ever remember.

Imagine basically weakening the overall squad from last season, we've basically returned 2 guys from last year, 1 that will take over MO and then we have a goalie.

This one's going to hurt even though we all knew it was coming since January. Kinda of getting used to losing our best player every season and replaced by a player with half his capabilities, but the heart of your team and midfield, sore one.

The board better pull something out of the bag and quick before this window closes..

As for MOR, wish him nothing but a great career, an absolute pleasure to watch and model professional..

Your missing my point that transfer markt is not reliable source at times due to the admin they have for the Scottish side of things is a huns … at one point they had kent valued way more than jota
And I’ve always been a bit dubious about the 30 per cent sell on … for 1 was never mentioned when first signed on loan it was an agreed option at 6.5 million pounds which was a high fee for someone who had only scored once in a disaster loan in La liga
2 . When he does sign it’s stated 6.5 million and that benfica were annoyed they only agreed a fee of 6.5 million ….. then when he is sold it’s only the daily record that are pushing the 30 per cent sell on figure also if the 30 per cent is true which means we really only made 12 million off him the books are telling a different story

It's one of those ones where you can just see he's starting to level up and sadly when we have players his age come in and tear it up (VVD, Jota, Frimpong) at such a young age we sadly won't get to see their peak years in a Celtic top.

Wish him the best if/when he does go as he's a top pro and very humble guy.

Maybe he wants another crack at the champions league and thinks have ago in that and leave Jan or is that just wishful thinking from me as I don’t want him to go

I don't think it's any coincidence news breaks we've stopped offering bottle caps as payment for Idah the same day there's rumours we've accepted a bid for MOR.

Absolutely tin pot mentality. Like there's a forcefield over that current 70mil in the bank that must not be touched.

Pendy on KDS saying MOR isn't 100% sold on Brighton. Wants a CL team and in no rush to leave. But he talks absolute rubbish though. Never forget him still saying Howe was still happening when everybody and their granny knew it wasn't

I don't think he's itching to leave but I do think the club are itching to sell if the price is right.

Anthony Joseph said last week that he wasn’t pushing for a move either, but that there’s an understanding between him and the club that if the right team and bid comes in then he will get his move. He was saying how he isn’t like your normal footballer. Assuming he means in terms of chasing money etc. Not sure if he knows the family but he also spoke about his mum and dad which I found strange unless he knows them personally.

I didn't miss the point, my point was that regardless of the accuracy of transfermarket that fee you quoted was pretty close to what we actually paid for him. It was also widely reported when we signed him there was a 30% sell on, I'm sure if you look back at the Jota thread you'll even find some people complaining about it and that we should actually pull out of the deal because of it. But again this isn't the place for a continued debate on the Jota fee so I'll leave it at that.

Another disgraceful decision if we sell O'Riley. With a stash of money we should be building our future round him rather than flog him off for money we don't need and won't be reinvested.

    * sickening, it really is.

The disgrace isn’t selling him. It’s our business model and it’s the unfortunate way that we have to operate in the modern football market.

The disgrace is not signing a single outfield player that wasn’t here last season, when we’ve had months to prepare and knew that O’Riley would likely be off this summer.
