It's not stressing about spending money, it's is idah actually worth that much to us, and if we're willing to spend that amount could we find better.

As I said already I'm not meaning in that context, what I believe is he ain't worth that and in a couple of years we'll find it hard to ship him.

I hope I'm proved wrong and hope he hits goals galore, but personally I'm not confident of that happening.

Spending £8m just for the sake of it nondoubts impacts on other areas of the team. And as said by others feel it's better spent elsewhere.

Put it this way when the wee man Kyogo goes in possibly a year or two I'm pretty confident this board will be saying we need better than Idah.

Somebody says he has instincts in the box, totally disagree saw plenty of balls flash across the box and he wasn't ready, yeah there'll be occasions when he is there, but doesn't look that kind of player to me.

Hes 100% not the finished article.. watched him for Ireland last game and he wasn't great, infact he was fairly poor.. he's also not in the same class as Kyogo for me but one thing he has is youth, power, pace and strength.. under Rodgers he can become an excellent player..

His last game against Killie is what I'd want to see every game from him.. proved the Derby doesn't faze him and can deal with the hoofers up here... Europe will be his test

CELTIC are finally on the verge of landing Adam Idah after launching an improved bid.

The Hoops have been chasing the Norwich City striker all summer after a successful loan stint last term

The Canaries rejected a £4million bid last month - but Celtic have now upped their offer.

It's believed to date they've offered a total package amounting to around £5.5m - with discussions reactivated.

SunSport understands Norwich are still holding out for a total amount, including lucrative add-ons, in excess of £6m.

And the Championship club could now do business and bring the transfer saga to an end.

Idah wants to return to Celtic and was recently disciplined for missing a Norwich team flight to Austria.

Talks have continued between the clubs and a deal to suit all parties is now edging closer.

Personal terms won’t be a problem for the Republic of Ireland striker, who bagged nine goals during his loan stint last term.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers made it clear he wanted the 23-year-old back on a permanent deal

And it looks like Hoops chiefs could finally have made a breakthrough in the long-running chase to land Idah.

Get the thread moved back the Celti
Ivan Toney wanted to be the main man and a guaranteed starter, we weren't prepared to give him that, wasn't about money. Sure the links have been posted several times in here but everyone keeps falling back to we wouldn't pay the money

Haha if that's true that's even more * mental.

Wernt willing to allow him to be a guaranteed starter when our other striker options would have been, a fat, unfit Griffiths, Patrick Klimala and * Bayo.

The fact we compounded it by signing the equally fat and unfit Ajeti will forever make that one of our worst transfer decisions of all time. It's right up there with Martin Oneill asking Rivaldo to have a trial

It's not about spending the money, it's there to be spent, it's about if he's worth 8m and could we do better with that same money.

100% hope he bangs them in and proves he is worth that money. But the doubt is there, considering the four months with us is his only decent goal return so far.

Why have we waited so long to go back with this bid? Wasting everyone's time.

At least we know him and manager rates him. Would rather spend the £8m on him than sign another 4 nobodys at £2m from the Lawwell big book of duds

Aye, this. What's taken us so long? Ridiculous. Not like we've been busy working on other targets.

Pretty sure Edouard got benched for Ajeti when he first came in.

I didn't believe the 8 mill figure for a minute..

Probably is worth it for what he landed us last year and he's proven.....we know what we're getting and more..

5.5 rising to 6 is a good deal for us..

Frustrated that it’s taken as long, similar to the Idah deal but I have no doubt that Norwich were at it.

Fee looks like it’s between £5.5m and £6m, with additional payments for future sale and/or player performances taking it up to potentially £8m. People focussing on that £8m figure too much. The manager wanted him, we’ve got the deal done by the looks of it. Time to move onto the next target.

Toney was to be signed with funds from Edouard sale. Peterbrough chief excutive said that at the time but don't let the fact you know absolutely * all about anything stop you spouting your mindless, brainless pish ya * hun troll.

Away and suck up to Lawwell some more ya bootlicking fuckard
