I'll stick by what I've said all along, worth the signing at the right price, but if it's £8m, we have massively over spent and it's a massive risk.

His only prolific time was his 4 months with us, of his 9 goals, a few was penalties.
That is not mean to diminish scoring them at all, the 9 he got was a good return.
But the risk is still massive here and for £8m I won't believe he's the best we could get.
I understand all signings are a risk, but idah hasn't done enough, long enough, for me not to still consider this a high money risk for us.

That falls on the lack of a respectable recruitment team.

At this stage though, just * get it done already and move on to other signings. It really does look like we only deal with one at a time again, perhaps we will get another by deadline day.

We paid £12m in tax. It's zero risk. We are so loaded we'll pay £20m+ tax If we don't spend on players this season.

He's worth the wait tbh, offers an ariel threat and physicality, has a strikers instinct in the box, young guy who will continue to improve.

There's a lot more to it though, so yeah you do need context.

Could have had Ivan Toney a couple of seasons ago for £8m. We weren’t prepared to go more than £7m if I recall rightly.

    Mannn £8M is alot.

But he so obviously has a lot of development in him. Big, strong, fairly quick, decent touch, good in the air. He has the tools to be a real quality striker.

I'm sure Toney has since said he didn't join us or Rangers cause he wanted to be first choice and that wasn't a guarantee with Eduard and Morelos around at the time.

£8m is a lot for us, but if you shop in England then it's par for the course..

It will be good if we get him, and while 8m sounds like a lot to us, its probably the going rate for a decent championship striker.

I'm still utterly confused why we aren't going for miovski at probably half that price. Feels a better option. But as long as we get someone I'm happy!

    Completely get that.
A good few years ago, decade back, folk in here was happy to tell us all we wanted to run with small debt so not to pay that very same tax.
Weird how that's flipped to hoarding the cash.

But it's not about spending the actual money, it's that it could be better spent.

You can most certainly get a better player than Idah for £8m and most certainly one that's more consistent scoring wise over more than 4 months to pose a lesser risk. No a risk in financial, but the risk of just not being good enough.

8 million is a lot but if he continues to replicate the sort of form he did during his loan then he will be worth it. I liked the idea of signing both Idah and Miovski but there’s no way we would be able to keep those two and Kyogo happy.

I’d like us to try sign a young striker with good pedigree who would be content with a season of playing a smaller role and hopefully developing under Rodgers, but even that will be very difficult to find.

Honestly why are people stressing about us spending too much money, we've got loads of it and we never spend it. It's no use sat in the bank

It’s up to £8m. Likely £6m with decent add ons, which Norwich are likely to accept.

Depends on what they add ons are but if it’s based on Champions League participation or winning the league, it will be worth it.

im all for it at £8 m ,if he helps us qualify for next seasons champions league ,it would be well worth it .* if he can help us to a couple of wins in this years also worth it.he aint as polished as i would like but i think his physicality would be great for european games

Probably no as their new manager was adamant ge wanted a look at him..

Then our first bid was rejected
He then started pushing and didn't go on their plane out to pre season

I don't for a second believe we'll be bidding 8 mill outright but he's proven for us/scorer of big goals, a different option to what we have and can improve further..
