I think so too; the question is, are we capable of finding good players with the money? I can easily imagine us spending £8 million on someone exciting who turns out to have the attitude of Ntcham and to be as injury prone as Welsh... oh and the obligatory £6 million on 4 projects, of course.

    Don’t think we are.

Our total spend is around £4.5m
Oh and Haksa were sold for about £4m.

We got lucky... Clubs wanted him but he wouldn't disrupt his kids schooling. Waited until they finished before moving on

Oh didn’t go for £4m. He went for about £2.3m or €2.7m.

And we took some of the J-League's best players for a couple mil. It's not the quality of player relative to other leagues that sets the price, it's about the transfer value of players within that market. It's like how it costs 10p to produce something in Thailand that sells for £5 over here. No one's going to offer that sweatshop £1 for that product no matter how good it is. £25m is a lot of money to Celtic and they'll take it if offered.

Quick google to double check it, but most reports, pretty much every report that names a fee have it down as £4.5m.

We apparently paid around £2.5m for him.

£4.5m seems a more potential of that fee if add ons are met from him being a success rather than just flat out £4.5m for him. £2.5m like you say, with a potential further couple million makes more sense to me.

We will 100% have a sell on fee as well, something we make sure of that.

    It’s 4 m euros so 3.5 million with a potential 500k performance related
As much as transfermarkt is a good tool to review these things never go with it as gospel as the Scottish admin on it is of the hun variety … just look at jota transfer they had us down as paying 16 million for him

We won't spend the money. But let's face it players up here get pretty bored playing the likes of Ross County and Co 4 times a season. We would have made him a promise in January that he could go in the summer after denying him a move to A Madrid

If that's true what Brighton are offering then he's played his last game here.

Not arsed how much we get, as others have said, we WON'T reinvest it.

Will need to wait on the accounts for an idea of both figures. But Belgian media where saying we wanted £4m or there abouts plus addon taking it to £4.5m

I'm sick of all of this it's putting me right off. Thank * NFL back soon.

We will sell for a fortune and reinvest 5mil at most on a replacement but more than likely a loan. Still needing 4 or 5 other players and doing * all about it. People are accepting this * which makes it worse.

    Something needs done about it.

Yeah. Who knows Bernardo might get to that level but it wouldn’t be this seaoson. O’Riley has always been a good player but last season he was great. His second season here he was more of a sub if I remember correctly.

Reinvest £5m in that one position on one player? Yes please :56:

We won't though, it'll be a last minute punt.

A fee will be agreed and he’ll be out the door to Brighton in about a tenth of the time it’s taken us to sign Idah.

It changes nothing. We all knew this was going to happen this summer.

It definitely is sad, though. We all saw how exciting that midfield looked at the weekend. That was the best football I've seen at Celtic since Ange left and some of the best football I've seen here in the past 2 decades.

If or when he goes, do you think we will spend money on a replacement or is Bernado already his replacement?

I think it’s the latter if I’m honest.

Looks like our star player is off, let’s hope the club buy another quality replacement but we all know it will be another project to weaken the squad even further.
Why do CFC make such hard work of everything?
