£25m? I’ll be gutted if it’s that low.

Disaster to lose him if he goes.

Won't be reinvested and we certainly won't have anyone in for the next couple games.

We know what he's potentially worth, but what I'm saying is that most boards know that we picked him up for chips and that our board won't look at 1500% return on their investment as a loss... It's not that I think we won't hold out, it's just about who'll blink first, and our board will almost certainly take the money rather than risk the gain.

Buy for 1.5, sell for 20 and 25% of the next move is astounding business... And they're all very clearly business people, over football people

Yeah, 25 upfront and another (sensible) 5 in the post is good money. Then there's probably another 5-7 when his inevitable transfer goes through in a year or two...

Such a * travesty that we won't sink it all back into the team for once, and change our prospects for a decade

£29m for Matt, 20% to MK Don's so all in he cost us £7.3m so £21.7m profit on his disposal added to the bank balance. Not a penny will see the light of day from the bank account. I really expect our business for this window is done.

We activated a release clause in his MK Dons contract so I didn't think they were due a sell on

You just know there'll be teams linked with him in a year's time for 3x whatever price we get. Lad's destined for greatness.

    £20m? £25m? What’s the difference?

The board won’t spend a penny of it anyway.

We will throw in a sell on aswell which we will just pocket greedy rich *. I doubt we would spend half of it! Could use it all on 4 decent signings at the 6 mill or so bracket and not even touch any of the cash there.

This is it for me... 2 great players at about £8M each, 2 more in the £5-6M area... Possibly still in profit from the single sale... Add a single purchase at the £5-6M from our huge bank balance, which would hardly make a dent... But we won't even consider it!

Can you imagine how much that kind of investment, used wisely, would do for us? 1 top player out, for 5 good new ones in... That's the way to start getting us through the group stages and into the silly money phases!

we already are in profit after the OH and Haksa sales even after Bernardo and other goalie! I would take 3 x 7 mil players CB CM and either a ST or LB and that’s 3 positions with good quality for 1 sale

We simply have to reinvest this.

    We won't though.

    * embarrassing.

A great move for him though.

Made my peace with this about 6 months ago. It was inevitable.

Yet another reason why I hate modern football. Imagine if we'd sold Larsson after 2-and-a-half years.
