Zero chance the Celtic board see Doak go for a nominal fee and buy him back on a LTB for a substantial amount.

Don't bother with the youth, to the point they want away at the first chance, only to then have to pay a loan fee to just get them back temporarily

100% would take a loan to buy for Doak. Even if it’s big money, like £8m plus.

Bobby Clark was the wee midfielder who played a few games for Liverpool last season so think it’s unlikely we get an option to buy in any loan move for him. They’ve turned down a £6m fee from Salzburg because they want to loan him out.

I know these two guys are talented but is that really the best we can do? We cannot go out and find some players that we can buy or even loan with a real line of sight to buy.

Another thing I have seen is English teams want to loan out inside England so your players then count as home grown. They sign them at 16-18 and then loan them about, if they are good enough then they count as home grown.

 

Just doing things backwards and stupid.

If we sign Doak back on loan that would just sum up our shitshow of a youth set up and lack of investment.

I’d rather give more youth a chance than take loans with no options to buy.

It’s not Peter, this is Desmonds business model that MN is just carrying on from Peter. Unfortunately time to accept that but the lack of investment into the youth set up is seriously baffling.

 

No way we bring Doak back on loan after he didn't sign a contract with us and went down to Liverpool for peanuts.

 

Big NO for Doak from me. He'd not be a guaranteed starter for one, he's talented aye but not yet at a level where he jumps ahead of Kühn or even Jamesy. Plus the money he'd no doubt be looking for is way above what we should be paying for a player at his stage of development.
