Brendan Rodgers has rejected the notion that he's been sending coded messages to the Celtic boardroom.

The manager has been clear in his desire to bring in quality new signings this summer but so far there's only been two goalkeepers brought in alongside Paulo Bernardo on a permanent who had been on loan last season. Rodgers insisted he does not want to see the club "snooze" in the market considering they're fighting on four fronts this year including in the Champions League


But fans are growing a tad impatient with the recruitment team he has entrusted to make sure they flag top talents the Hoops could go out and try to bring in

Rodgers, though - as he celebrated a 4-0 opening day win over Kilmarnock this afternoon - moved to clarify that he's not been sending out any messages to the board, subtle or otherwise, as he always talks to his bosses before meeting the press.

"Our focus is very much currently on players that are here and making improvements with them but we want to improve the squad, there's no doubt. So yeah, I'm relaying my feelings but my feelings are with them totally first. But we want to take the club forward, we know the challenges we have on every front and we want to improve the squad. Think we'll get a striker idah and maybe some loans in including talented young or elderly midfielder to replace Matt if he goes and that'll be it.

Sevco are getting worse so the money men will see no reason to spend, we also have holm Bernardo and the other guy who had a very good loan in midfield who we played at center back plus 2 spare center backs we paid a decent amount of cash for.

They certainly won't spend much.if they don't ship a good few out

Don't think he would have said anything to us/media that he hadn't already said to the board anyway.

Even when saying his "coded" messages, it was naming the two directly and saying he's had conversations with them, so exactly what he's said again here.

All he's done previously was communicate it to the fans as well - thank you.
Along with that, it adds more pressure to the board though. Good.

We should have targets prioritised in the event MoR leaves. It could even be argued one should be brought in first before he is allowed to leave.

its all well and good talking about bringing quality in ,its another actually doing it. rodgers is simply repeating what he said in january and last summer
