If Chelsea are genuinely interested, that's good for us. We can fleece them for every penny and with their recent history, they won't be shy to pay it.

I'd much rather we kept him still though. There's no way we're adequately replacing him this window.

If Koopmeiners leaves Atalanta I think we'll see some serious bids come in pretty much straight away from Atalanta and anyone else who is genuinely interested.

If he is the replacement they want for Koopmeiners then it's surely an advantage to us as they gonna have to shell out or lose him to other clubs, vice-versa other clubs will know that Atlanta want him so will move fast if they want MOR before Atalanta gets him. (my tuppenceworth anyway)

Would still rather keep him but at least the circumstances look to be advantageous to us in terms of bids increasing.

I said it after the chelsea game id be surprised if teams like that weren’t interested in him especially since he was better than all their cms that played. Hope he stays until January but if he is to go this window if Chelsea are genuinely interested they’d definitely meet the 30m pound price tag im sure

If Chelsea want him the price is now £60m.

To think he was the 2nd choice option to Riley McGree aswell...

Dunno whether to look at that as a negative or positive for our scouting team:56:

I'm not convinced he was 2nd choice to Riley McGree. I think MORs signing was more opportunistic than anything else tbh

We need to be much angrier at our players being sold off when there is no need to do so. We are cash rich and should be building a side to at least not make a dog's ear of Europe. When the cash reserves are low then fine, but O'Riley could be the catalyst to a great decade at the club and if the board showed some ambition me might even stay. Will it happen? Not a chance.

Chelsea are assessing potential replacements should Conor Gallagher leave the club.

Sky Sports News understands one of several options they are keen on is Matt O'Riley at Celtic.

O'Riley has been the subject of bids from Atalanta this summer, and he has further interest from other clubs in the Premier League and abroad

Atletico Madrid, who have agreed a £34m deal with Chelsea for Gallagher, made a bid for O'Riley in January.

If they're genuinely interested I can see him going, so long as they pay the right amount and not the kind of bids Atalanta have allegedly come up with. Didn't see it being Atalanta or Southampton etc but be difficult for him to turn this kind of move down and for our board not to accept a profit of 25m plus, again assuming there is any truth to this.

Chelsea would ruin him but if it means we get more money then so be it.

The domino effect starting to take place now some moves are happening.

Chelsea would be a good move for him , also closer to his family and I think it’s a good time to go to Chelsea as there in a transition stage but will still be pushing for top 6 , Southampton your not going to see the real Matt as they would be on the back foot to much and Atalanta seems a good club to go to at the moment but in football things can change quickly and they could be one season wonders.

There is a long, long, list of good footballers being completely wasted by them. KDB and Salah the top of the iceberg. They then go on to good clubs that actually play football and they’re world class.

£70 mill to start talking if Chelsea interest is real.

Assuming Chelsea could stabilise he could easily be a standout in the EPL for them.

Mental if Chelsea are actually looking at him, considering they signed Dewsbury-Hall for about £30m, and have a gazillion players already on their books...

It all depends on Gallagher leaving Chelsea, and the fee they get for him.

They've only very recently got back in the black with the epls ffp, and are bound to be looking to improve that * show of a squad, so you'd be looking at maybe a good chunk of the fee they receive, certainly not the full amount.

Spurs and Aston Villa want him, but Chelsea don't want to sell to an EPL club, so their waiting on euro offers, with MoR the incoming.

We should make Chelsea pay 70 odd million. But they'll never pay it, and they know fine rightly that our board will accept anything over the 20-25m mark with a healthy sell on.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is remaining "calm" about the prospect of losing Matt O'Riley during the summer transfer window.

The Danish internationalist, 23, oozed class once again as Celtic got their Scottish Premiership title defence off to a triumphant start by defeating Kilmarnock 4-0 on home soil.

O'Riley has been the subject of bids from Atalanta in Serie A and now Chelsea, who Rodgers' side beat during pre-season, are also believed to be considering a swoop before the August 30 deadline.

The Celtic boss believes his star midfielder knows how much he's valued at the club and he's currently thriving in a team that will only improve him as a player, but didn't rule out an eventual parting of ways this month

We are quite calm on that," Rodgers told BBC Scotland. "Yeah, there's been offers for him but nowhere near the valuation of the player himself.

"He's just continuing to work every day, and like I said, he understands where it's at.

"But if you see his performance level all the way through pre-season and here today, he's very focused on helping the team, very focused on improving as a player, and he knows he's in a great place to do that.

"Until that changes then we will continue to work with Matt to help improve his game."

Asked how much of a bonus it would be if Celtic could retain their prized asset ahead of their upcoming Champions League campaign, Rodgers continued: "I would love for one, Matt to be here. But also two, to have more tools to give it a real go at the Champions League.

"It's one of our big targets this season We want to see if we can get into those play-off phases and for that obviously with so many games, so many challenges in this season for us, we want to improve the squad.

"So, for Matt and other players, absolutely that's our challenge over these next three and a half weeks to hopefully get tooled up to have the best opportunity we can."
